Wow, I remember posting that post, and that was like about a year ago give or take. One edit I would like to add to that, is that RL25 is now tops on my list, over the RL22. I had used it but a very little bit at the time I posted that , and since, I have learned a little more about it, and again, IMHO, it simply works better for me.

You are correct McMillian does not make them any more. The people who made the metal part don't make that any more either. This is a shooter I hate to junk it. But I can probally buy another rifle for what it will cost to fix this one unless I find a factory take off.

You could buy my 995 and use the stock on whichever one shoots best (LOL). But seriously, I do have a 995 in 7stw for sale, check the classifieds if interested.

Tell me about it! I thought I had it sold twice - First to one of the brotherhood here, but he decided to do a semi custom build with an existing action he had and a barrel he found. More recently to a Sako lover who had a family emergency and had to put the gun purchace on hold. So I'm still trying to sell it.

Bob, it will sell! I'm not sure as to why not yet, but those things are shooters for sure, and the barrels are very well made, and they last too!

looking for info and input on my stw plan.i purchased a rem 700 that was rechambered to 7stw and it has too short of barrel to get any speed.i am going to get it rebarreled and want input on barrel brand.i would like to know about muzzle brake or suppressors choices.i trust the advice of the group here and welcome all opinions.i have been told that the berger bullets require some sort of different chamber,if some one knows for sure i would like some help on that.thanks for all help.

What length of barrel and what wight bullets and what powders are you using?

My two "go to" barrel makers are Krieger , Bartlein, Shneider, and Brux but there are a dozen high quality barrel mfg's you can choose from today and not make a mistake.

Ideal length and taper/wt barrel are determined by your intended uses of the rifle and what and how far you are willing to pack one.

Snowy Mountain Rifles has the best brake I've ever tried (overall).

Hey Guys, need some advice... I recently listed a few guns for sale on this site & another. Got a lot of response and now have to figure out how to ship them and exchange $. Do I need to have my FFL ship to the buyer's FFL? That was my impression. As it happens, I have a guy in Toronto who wants me to ship a rifle to a commercial receiver in Niagra Falls NY where he would pick it up. Also, how should I handle payment? Any info and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to talk about bumping the shoulder back .003 or .0035. Want to make sure I understand what is going on here. What I think I know is you take a fired case out of your STW and measure it with a Hornday Head Space gauge and caliber and you write down the measurement. You then set up your die so when you resize the case your measurement is .003 less than your first? I hope that's it.

Also can this be down with a neck sizer die or do we have to use Full Length sizer die. I have both but have never understood what bumping the shoulder back means or why we do it. Thanks Rick

I have bought and sold quite a few here in Canada. Here we have EMT, or Email Money Transfer, which is basically a direct transfer from your bank account to the sellers, its instant and free. Not sure if that is an option for you guys south of the border. Another common option, is a money order. Sent, tracked and signature required to receive, then the firearm is shipped after payment arrives. I don't know what a FFL is, we don't have that here.

Does this mean you finally sold your m995? If not, let me know after you finish this transaction with the guy in Canada, I may be interested. I just have never bought and gone through the import/export route from the USA.

Well this am the Canada guy decided it was too much hassle and he dropped out of the deal. It was for a Beretta Mod 502 in 7mm Rem. Anyway, the Sako M995 is still available also, and I still don't know selling/shipping a rifle to Canada would work.

I know it can be done, there is a few stores up here that will do the paperwork and import it for you, for a fee of course.
I was looking at your Mod 502 last night, that is a beautiful rifle as well, I've never seen those Beretta/Sako models before.

I have never seen another Beretta Mod 502. The action was made by Sako and the rifle assembled by Beretta. Really high quality fit and finish. I bought it for my son who has since got into trapshooting and he asked me to sell it for him to help defray the cost of a really nice trap gun.
