I have owned a Remington R-25 in 7mm-08. It is superbly accurate with .5 MOA with hand loads or factory ammo. Feeds reliably, no issues at all. I really like the rifle.
Thanks Greyfox
I thought about the 7mm-08 but I have everything to reload 243 and want to use it for coyote and deer.
I think the rifle will do fine in either caliber. A shooter at my range had one and it appeared to shoot as well ad my 7mm08. The rifle is actually a DPMS, who is owned by the dame parent company as Remington.
I'm with cbass. The r25 is a fine rifle. My buddy has one in 7mm08 that'll hold 1inch or so and it seems to run just fine. (he loves it, and hasn't mentioned any hiccups at all) But, the DPMS version will leave you with money in your pocket to put toword optics, mounts etc. I think you can Duracoat, hydro-dip, Ceracoat, or whatever the DPMS for less than the difference between the two rifles anyway. But if you don't mind paying a bit extra, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.Opinion...it's a grossly overpriced DPMS with a camo dip.
Buy or build with the features you actually want, dip it later if you choose to, and you'll still have money left in your pocket.
