7prc

I have been going back and forth with a new build. 7prc or 300 prc. I was heavily leaning towards the 300prc, just mainly because of the lack of quality brass for the 7prc. But, two boxes of 7prc ADG brass showed up on Thursday. I did not expect them for a couple of months. So, I think I have made my decision. Parts are being shipped off on Monday for a 7PRC build to be completed. I see everyone's questions about is it better than 7 rem mag or 7saum. Probably not. but it is new and will be fun to see what I can get it to do.

Alright, I hear of a new build, you might have shared elsewhere, but what are deets? What components are you planning to start with? I'm with ya, I've got a 7saum and no real reason to put togeather a 7prc other than it's new and would like to play around with it to form my own opinion and have some fun doing it.

I assume he was referring to the necking up people like cortina were doing by just necking up the 6.5 prior to the actual release of the horandy 7prc. Regardless, that shouldnt be referred to as a "7prc" but rather a necked up 6.5prc, two completely different cases.
Correct. It's a 7-6.5prc. I just wasn't sure if I missed a side conversation Cajun was having or if he was misspeaking

I'm using a Mack Bro's EVO II action, Ace #3 barrel, TT diamond trigger, Manners EH2 stock, HS Precision bottom metal, and a TIPro muzzle brake.

TRUE! But would it not be fun to neck it up just to see? Or we could just wait on EC.

First 5 shots out of my carbon 6 barrel. 175 eldx factory ammo. Didn't chrono it yet

Really makes no sense when there's already a 7 SAUM, which is almost perfect IMO
On one hand using that logic one could say 90% of cartridges out there don't make any sense. On the other hand I think the sherman 7max is about as perfect as it gets...or a 7 blaser. I have an improved 7 blaser that gains about 4 gn, but I don't seem to be any faster than the 7max.

Biggest advantage I see in 7prc is I could shoot factory ammo with heavies like I would use when reloading myself. If a person didn't invest in reloading, you could achieve 99%+ the same results as a person that does reloading with today's scopes and ballistic solving solutions. I dont think a factory saum ammo could do the same. And 7 blaser isn't really found here in US.

I love my blaser but if the 7prc had been available 4 years ago I probably would have gone that direction. I wasn't really aware of the 7max until after I had bought blaser components or I likely would have gone that route.

For a custom gun guy that reloads you can make the 7rm, 7blaser, 7max, and 7prc perform identically. It's nice to have all these options
