Lead Poisoning

So want to really see where ancillary metals come from in environment? Just look at wear debris from tires and friction materials (brakes). Birds gravel pick off side of road that is cross contaminated from wear debris. So eliminate tires?

There has been really good work to eliminate these metals but decades of use has resulted in buildup as well.

Diesel exhaust decades with carbon based as well as metals.

How about homes built with copper pipes and lead solder? Older homes with lead pipes still problematic that municipalities knew about and ignored until pressured to change out.

And the list goes on.

There's one post that claims cars are the number one killer of birds. So I guess we shouldn't drive anymore. Or maybe we should just not hunt.

I figured California would have it all figured out by now--- I figure you can just start labeling each individual bullet with the "prop 65 warning"--- surely all those birds can read 🤪

I don't know what's happening in that area of the world……but, "everything" causes cancer there! 🙀 memtb

Put that on the windows so birds can read it. Cars too.
And planes

I personally think every product in the world needs some sort of warning label on it ☠️ so that unknowing people or animals can't be accidentally harmed in any way shape or form -- you know, like " HOT coffee might be hot" --- or "don't put superglue in your eye"--- or maybe " don't drink antifreeze"-- or " don't put this plastic bag over your head"

I still haven't figured out why forks or steak knives don't say " do not stab in eyeball" yet.

( hopefully you can hear the tone in my voice)

Yup I hear it. I agree there is an issue, but to what degree? It's like coal energy. Yes it's the dirtiest source of energy but it's the cheapest. And in an economic war we need cheap energy. But we subsidize solar and other green energy. So why is China using more and more coal and oil electrical plants when they are the largest manufacturer of solar panels? Woke thinking? Paid off? Or are we just that stupid?

What about this chemical ?

If you know what "sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate" is and how to pronounce it, you probably know it's bad for you too!!;

Maybe we should re-name the periodic table of elements to "dangerous substances"

We have a safety guy at work that is the king of "what if's" --- no matter how safe/guarded something is, he can come up with a "what if" scenario that blows it all out of the water---

you know----- " what if you happen to be standing on your head while shoveling with your left hand, and doing jumping jacks while eating a ham sandwich in a confined space while working at heights without your socks on"

Or the thinking of banning firearms because of the lives lost every year. Which is on average 35k per year. But hey abortions are okay at an average of 750k-1 million per year since what 1974. Yup better ban guns, if it saves only one life it's worth it.

I'm not against lead ammo at all I just never thought about predators eating the remains with lead fragments,.

How did you not know? Its been all over the forums, magazines, news etc for nearly 20 years. There's even pictures of condors eating lead paint off of old fire lookout towers. It's been a BS feel good liberal gun grab from its inception. And now eagles are taking over as the status symbol instead of condors since condors are rare and eagles are 'Merican.

Why aren't turkey vultures, ravens, coyotes, bears, lions, squirrels, etc etc dieing also? Why only "rare" birds?
