3 reasons why I like the 6.5 CM

Cockroaches survived the dinosaur age. They'll probably out last us all lol.

You must be old to like an cartridge over a hundred years old. lol
My 30-06 doesn't even have optic on it. But it's an improved design as well. It's still 10 twist, but throated to run the 215 Berger at 3.45" coal. And still use the mag. It's pushing a hex coated 215 2800 fps cruising. I ran it to 2850 in win brass. Not grandpas ole deer rifle.

I think it's a fantastic cartridge, it fits extremely nicely in a 2 rifle stable for large game. A 6.5 creed and a 300/338 can handle anything in NA with comfort. Plus 6.5 creed works well for practicing, and positional competitions (while not the best it won't hold you back until you're at the top.

i don't care what other people shoot, but I find the creed to be extremely well suited to being very good at most of my shooting activities and I have a 300 for the bigger stuff if I feel iffy. Which in all honesty I probably don't need.

Ackley Improved? Sounds like GPa's rifle lol.

Nope. Just throated different. Same ole case, improved mag dimensions. Like I said though it's not even in commission right now. I put it up probably somewhere around 2015.
And yes I'm old. Turned 44 last November.
Been messing with rifles since I was old enough to carry one. I was following David Tubb when I was in grade school. Back then you had to follow him in American rifleman magazine. Not even dial up internet back then.

30-06 1-10" has been around for ages and since most manufacturers throat chambers long from the factory long seated isn't new. Heck Remingtons can accept cartridges 3.600" and even my push feed factory Winchester Feather Weight can accept 208 ELDM seated out to 3.390". GPa's gunsmith could have throated longer without much problems. Old technology.

I'm not sure where you're going with multiple pages of 30-06 bashing. I put it up a long time ago. It really get exhausting arguing with people so shallow they think the creed with hurt them. It's a cartridge you should stay completely away from.

Not bashing the creed, just illustrating why there is so much disfavor with some of it's followers. If you read earlier I said it's a fine cartridge that mirrors the 6.5 swede lol. I'm not bashing the 30-06 either. I've owned one for over a decade. This thread pretty much illustrates why many don't like the creeds even though they are fine cartridges.

You guys need to try and get some closure on the creed. It's not going anywhere.
