What’s wrong with the SA 2020 Waypoint rifle?

The problem with factory rifles is once you have one built or you put one together with chamber specifications you chose, buying a factory rifle with SAAMI chamber with std twist is REALLY hard to do or accept.

No issue if you shoot factory ammo or don't care about chamber/throat or twist.

$2099 with a cf barrel, cf stock, tt trigger, that's not bad, what else is comparable?
Oddly… after returning a Christensen Ridgeline that SUCKED…..I am having a rifle built. In the interim- I bought a (don't laugh…😊) Savage. It is the Ultralight Backcountry if I remember correctly. Lighter than the Christensen, more accurate than the Christensen, and actually reliable at ejecting and cycling every round and the Christensen clearly did not. And it has a Proof carbon fiber barrel, adjustable LOP and comb height and trigger. AND…. is HALF THE PRICE of the Crappensen .. I mean Christensen😁. So for $1200 and change- it is a Christensen killer.

I have one, nothing is wrong with it. I love it. It does great and is a little tack driver. I shot it with w full custom builds that were around 3k to build if you know the right people... and with my MRAD. It performed just as well. I added my own cheek weld to it. It's a 6.5 and has by far exceeded my expectations, I'd buy one all over again.

Now for the guys that think carbon barrels are lighter... that's not true. My proof barrels weigh almost identical to my Bartlien barrels.

Once you crack the code on assembling parts you can have all your favorite features in a gun. It is hard for some folk to let go the notion that the rifles being built at the factory are like how Willy Wonka makes candy with magic.

I've got customs and semi customs and have built many savage combinations over the years. I've been pleased with all, that said the waypoint is a bargain if it shoots. Just haven't heard much about them online. Purpose of this post was to hear folks experience with the Waypoint good or bad. I ordered one this morning. Will update in the future.

Please do report back!

$3000 bucks for a "full" custom??? Sign me up! Wait a minute. $6000 before delivery, 1 year in the build (if your lucky), and by then you changed your mind and want something else.
Nothing wrong with a full custom rig, but you can shoot the ship outta the other one waiting for delivery.
THIS !!!!!!!

I have a 308Win in green I got last year and it shoots Hornady 143ELDX into 1/2" little 88 holes. I have a 6mm Creedmore coming in Wht/Desert to go pick up in a couple days, it was purchased at SportsmansWarehouse....... MORE are Aval. I expect it will shoot as well. I break in w/Factory ammo for a base line to see how it shoots and then begin to handload with higher expectations. I too really like my 308 and plan to love my 6 Creed...... Hope this helps!! Scott^
