Fair point indeed.
Someone should perhaps write them and suggest a special draw for kids under a certain age. I think 16 would be a good place to start.

Didn't Colorado make a change a few years ago with sheep, moose and mtn goat? Once you get your three, buying additional bonus points is basically worthless. Didn't hear a lot of people on these sites whining about the changes with all these other states. 90/10 is long overdue and should've happened years ago.

I am lost on the full refund thing here. I am not saying that a pct of your point money shouldn't be on the table. Your odds changed, doesn't mean you are shut out completely. Wouldn't disease, depravation, etc,,, things out of anyone's control also altered your odds of a draw? Only so many licenses are issued yearly, and I would imagine that changes all the time.
You gambled with your money here, if you drew a tag last fall, you wouldn't be in this conversation, because you won. But you still haven't lost, it's just the chances have diminished some.
Aging out isn't a fault of WYG&F, and I am relatively sure they have a plan to take on all comers, or had a settlement figure in mind before making this decision.
But demanding a full refund on a game you or anyone chose to participate in, I am going to quit here.
As a NR who has always hunted with an outfitter and guides in WY, it will be interesting to see if licenses go to outfitters if/when they go to 90/10 for elk, deer and antelope. If they do, it would seem the state may be putting some of their residents (the guides) out of work due to less NR hunters. Would be interesting to see data on how many residents use an outfitter/guide, anyone know?
I've been thinking of moving from TN to the beautiful states near the Rocky Mountains. Just not sure where yet. The changing hunting opportunities for NR's may just push me to make the move.

Jesus what? The thread is about drawing lic, not about the ability to hunt public lands. Heck, you can camp out all yr long on public lands, if you don't have a lic, you are not hunting it.

Hurrah! I have finally found a benefit of being this old. When I was much younger, I was able to drive from Utah to Colorado years ago, go into a bar, buy an over-the-counter elk tag and drive into the mountains and hunt.
I was able, while stationed in Alaska, to hunt moose and caribou after taking a free or nearly free (at my age I can't remember) F&G class on the rules & regulations, tags were easy to get, and go hunting. F&G rangers were stricter on fishing for salmon as I recall.
