FFP scope for an elk rifle

Do you have an exact reticle you like from them?

I've owned several Vortex and shot through a few more through the years, and I wasn't ever really thrilled with the reticles on any I used, but always looking to give something else a try.
They have evolved the details slightly over the years i.e. finer increments in the subtensions, but from the HSLRs to the PST GEN2s I'm using now the overall utility is about the same. My most recent purchase is the 3-15 mentioned before. I run MOA, but MIL wouldn't be any different in the field.

The 3-15 LHT? Is that only offered in SFP? I recall thinking that if they ever offer the 3-15 ffp I'd try one.

Hi guys. I know there are lots of similar threads and I've read many of them. But spending other people's money is fun, right? I'm looking for a scope to put on my .284 Win Tikka for an elk hunting trip to Colorado this coming season:

It will be my first western hunting trip, but I've been deer hunting in MN and WI and shooting PRS style competitions out to 1k so I'm at least a decent if not amazing shot. I want the scope to enable a harvest out to 600 yds.

I'm set on:
- 3-18ish mag range
- FFP, mil
- locking elevation turret
- not super heavy. I'd live with up to 32 oz, but would prefer <28 oz (1.75 lbs)
- $1k or less preferred, but I could swing up to $1250 (and can get a Tenmile or LHT for that due to a friend with dealer pricing)
- Will retain a zero well. Forgot this initially as I feel like it should go without saying, but given recent contentious forum posts on the LHT, maybe not? I've read all of that and not sure what to make of it.

I tried to include every decent scope I could find that meets that criteria on the list, but doesn't include an OG LRHS/LRTS as they're so hard to find (esp the 3-12). No, the PST doesn't have locking turrets but wanted it there for reference.

What have I missed, and of that what would you all recommend? Thanks.
Tract Toric hands down

The new FFP LRH is a 4.5-22×50

Yep. That model didn't do it for me. I like the low end to be lower, and I don't have much use for 22X on the high end for a big game scope. Still, I really thought I'd see more reports on them.

Supposedly they were planning a 3-15 FFP.

I have 3 of the vortex 5-25 Venom's, with the EBR-7C reticle , zero stop and have done many tracking's on all of them, never had a issue with them not being true. Great glass and just a very very good scope. The price right now is at $450.00 on sportsmansguide I'm sure you won't be sorry

Does anyone have any experience comparing the Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44mm side by side with the Mark5hd 3-18x44? The Trijicon seems to be about 2oz lighter and has the 30mm tube instead of 35... so easier to find lighter rings. I do like the leupold cds dial lock... but the Trijicon is also street value a lot less. Both are FFP, but the Trijicon comes with illuminated reticle, where mark5hd that is a costly upgrade. Plus Trijicon is claiming "drop tested" on each scope, and appears to be faring well in the drop tests over on rokslide, where the Mark5 seems to be lagging... anyone with real world experience with both?

Any chance you could post a pic of the reticle on the Sig Sauer tango 4 from through the scope?

I'd like to look through one of these but have yet to come across on in the wild, as they say.

Ita really hard to take a good pic through the scope, except you can kinda see all the details on the tree 200-300 yards away, the pic doesn't do it justice. It's very clear for a $500-600 I took a decent pic but it is having trouble uploading

No problem. I know it's tough. For what they're asking, I might have to just pick one up and give it a try. Don't really have a need for it at this time, but always interesting in trying new scopes.
