I Hate Hammer Bullets!

We'll, these hammer bullets better be the best thing since sliced bread because I'm having my Winchester 70, 25-06 rebarreled specifically to shoot the 116 grain, I tried them in the rifle with factory barrel, and they shots about a 4" group at a hundred, so we'll see.
Pretty gutsy to build a gun around a bullet you don't have experience with.

Hornady works for me.
Try and find a 7mm eldx from an online shop. They don't exist from any reputable company.
Or in my local gun stores that being 4 counties.

And while I am at it, the only thing I hate about Hammer bullets is that there aren't more target bullet offerings👅

Steve, I'm really sorry that this thread din't turn out to be what both you and I wanted. I'll be trying your bullets in a 7mm rifle I'm building for hunting. And when I hunt I hunt, meaning I get close before I shoot (<400 yds preferably < 200). If I want to shoot 1000 yards I'll take my 308 competition gun which shoots 1/8 moa and throw 200 gr target bullets at an F class target. IMHO this 1000 yd plus shooting at animals is BS. From what I've read the design of your bullet should do fine. I'm using them for what I believe they were designed to do.

I was really hoping to get some real world application feedback about your bullets. Other than BC I guess there really isn't any bad about your product. I'll be contacting you for proper bullet selection.

There seems to be need for those who hate Hammer Bullets to have a place to vent. So, I decided it would be a good idea to make a place for that to happen. There is no need to hold back here. Let it out. Nobody has to be sly in starting threads that are anti Hammers by saying it is about more choices. Just let it out here. This is a safe place to do it. It is pretty evident that most who hate Hammer Bullets have not used them but have formed a hatred just the same. Let us know how you got this hatred. We don't learn anything about our bullets this way, but we might learn something about marketing. If there are those that hate Hammer Bullets that have used them, please post here. We do learn from these instances and will use that information to get better.

I have one rule for this thread. I do not want any satisfied Hammer users to post on this thread. I don't want anyone to stick up for Hammer Bullets. I am willing to take what comes here and I will monitor the thread and I will handle any defense needed. I don't want this to turn into one side vs the other and have the thread shut down due to infighting.

Let's go.
Well this is an interesting turn of events, but not so sure how much is going to be learned from it. I personally have not shot any hammer bullets. In fact had never heard of them in any way shape or form until I started here. Have done some research on them and from what I can see they don't really perform any better than the quality mainstream bullets. It's hard to improve on 1/2 MOA groups using Federal, Sig Sauer, Sierra and Nosler especially at the inflated prices for the Hammers. Thus, I have nothing good to say, or bad to say except about the price. For those of you who love them, have at it. For those of you that hate them there has to be a reason why? For those of us who have never tried them out there is no reason to either love or hate them. In my case I have no reason to even try them out so will not squander my hard earned money to chase a rainbow that doesn't exist. That is all that I have to say on the matter.

I can't say cost, because I have not even checked your prices...Seriously.
BC has been my main hold-up.
I know your bullets work from friends of mine who use them.
Cost may be one, if for deer sized game, since I can still kill great, and have a better BC with other brands.
I have seen a little of the drama, but I don't typically participate in those games.

I hate how easy they make reloading. It's not supposed to be easy, it's taking the fun out of it for me. Stupid hammers.

Oh and my wife hates them, I buy too many 😬
Now I'm intrigued. I'll have to buy some.

Personally, my likes and dislike for any bullet I shoot are related totally to the particular rifle I'm shooting them in. For example, I had a 6.5 PRC (CA\ELR 26" carbon) that rejected every weight, (proper twist rated) Hammer Bullet that I tried. It liked Bergers, and really like AccuBond's. I don't know why? I tried every trick presented and they just wouldn't group. The same Hammer bullets in my 26 Nosler (w/the same twist) shot perfectly! Again, I don't know why? So for me, if my rifle of the day "dislikes" a particular bullet, so do I. And if my rifle of the day "loves" a particular bullet, so do I!
Button rifled, cut rifled, bore finish, break in?

Steve...I don't believe anybody "hates" Hammers, I know I certainly don't.

What people hate, is how literally every single bullet thread/question turns into a Hammer bullet thread by the same couple posters.

This thread is going to turn into the same as the Sherman bashing thread...I would recommend deleting it now.
I certainly can't agree more with this Steve. We get it! You have a good product. You have a great following, you should be and I am sure are very proud of your success. But there is a fine line between Followers and Fanatics...just like the fine line between Genius and Madness! The inundation of the Hammer line here is causing the need for your question. 6.5 creedmore vs Hammer question? There's only so much Kool-aid the average person can ingest. Just me!

My opinion, BC is overrated at the ranges I read most people shoot deer. We are not talking about staying in the X ring of a F Class target. I suppose I am just a service rifle shooter who is used to cranking for the wind. There is no magic BC to keep you in the X ring. I do understand the retained energy relationship with the BC, but in the distances for killing deer that I read here, max BC for the bullet weight is not an absolute requirement.

Know you bullet characteristics in the wind, when the opportunity arises, read the wind, crank or hold and break a good shot ---- dead deer.

Agreed, I can get 1/2
