Ar15 caliber that uses large rifle primers

Having both 6.5g and 6.8spc my vote is for the 6.8. Carlos stated with the 85tsx and 90hp speer are good choices with plenty of velocity to boot! I have the 85 and 95gr barnes. The barnes 85gr is flat base along with the speer 90gr, but the 95 is bt if you need? I load'm up too 110gr, but for 20 and 24" barrels.

Yes really I can't think of a single thing the 6.8 does better. Grendel is flatter, faster, less drift and higher sectional density. Also shorter case so much more useful for heavier bullets. Especially when talking hunting Bullets.
Although small the Grendel is better
No need too worry about sd in this case!

Since we are seconding and thirding already mentioned options, I'll throw in with the 6.8 SPC crowd. You can find LRP and SRP cases which is nice versatility to have these days. Plus I have a .270 Win, so the bullet component overlap is a plus, too. Nothing wrong with the Grendel if you are already shooting other 6.5s...just not my thing.

Well that still doesn't account for how the 6.5 is better in all other stuff listed plus more factory ammo and brass.
Have a 6.8 improved also I can tell you the Grendel is still better. Want the best do a 6mm turbo. I just have to many wildcats already.
Please explain how if you have both the 6.8 is better. They shoot the same weight yet the 6.5 beats it in every thing mentioned above.

That's what I was thanking alone the lines of as well by going with 6.8 spc because I already have a 270 win and I'm awaiting the arrival of my 270 wsm and one more .277 cal won't hurt anything either

Although I like the 6.5 Grendel better your best choice is the 6.8 due to commonality of components.

I'm not doubting the grendel's performance being I have a 260rem, 6.5gren, 6.5creed, 264wm and a very lonely 270win. Depending on setup and distance the 6.5gren wins. Within 500 yards it's choice like anything else. I just prefer the 6.8 over the 6.5gren. Now if you take the gren and make case capacity the same as the spc that would change it up!I could debate you improved case choice, but that would be pointless? Your decision and no one will change it!

How fast do you push a 130 grain in the Grendel with a 20" barrel?
