You load for maximum velocity until you reach max charge or pressure out. Pressuring out is an undesirable condition.
If you find pressure, back off (usually about a grain). Then try to find your best accuracy node.
Premium brass is stronger than softer brass
 
I was told chamber pressure is the same for either brass but an over pressure may not show itself soon enough in high quality brass. Learning something new all the time
 
You are somewhat correct. Some guys like to find pressure with hornady brass then load better brass till they hit the same speed and say that's the limit. I tend to build it to I see pressure in my brass regardless of brass make. Never had an issues but I'm a bit more on the risky side for my personal stuff

Pressure isnt necessarily, better put typically NOT the same between one brand or another, due to internal case capacity, by VOLUME.
A lighter weight case, spelled thin walled will hold more powder, and the thicker, heavier will hold less.
An equal charge in a thin wall, and thick wall case will yield less pressure on the lighter case, and higher on the thick wall. I have a load that if duplicated in federal case, that was originally formulated in Hornady brass, reads hot.
 
Interesting. I guess I've always stayed on the cautious side as I do some reloading for friends and family. It would be interesting to test actual chamber pressure with your theory. I've noticed factory 6.5 creedmoor rounds showing very flat primers and suspect they are nearing max loads, it would be interesting to poor the powder into some high quality brass and see the results. I guess I just feel as this information may be used as gospel that what seems fine with Peterson brass out of a custom action/barrel may not be safe in a cheaper cast bolt type setups and maybe being able to see the pressure early might avoid a real bummer. On another note, I just ordered a 22 creedmoor barrel for a coyote gun and pretty excited to see the hammers at work. Does anybody want to reckon a guess what bushings for adg brass if it ever becomes available?

Sometime, when you can gather some same caliber, different brand of brass. Weigh and record each. The more brands, the better. If .308, make sure you get some military brass. The difference is amazing.
I just had some Sako brass, .30.06. Also had some Nosler, and Hornady as well. The Sako brass was nearly 30 grains heavier. Not trying to get off topic, sorry guys.
