What is better than the Weatherby?

The .300 Weatherby is a tried and true long range round, fantastic for elk. Deadly for sure out to 600 yards. Superb with the Nosler 210 grain Accubond. What, if anything, is better? Gentlemen, state and explain your opinions, please.
Just to keep it simple, most .30 magnum's push the same weight bullets at around the same velocity across the broad... so other than in the "gun rag's" for conversation, controversy, and sales, where's the real gain of one over the other? Cartridge design is a lot like good looking women, pick the one you like and hope it works. Good luck! :)

When you say..."ACROSS THE BROAD"...1...Give her earmuffs 2....a bipod might be steadier...but 3...2 wouldn't be as much fun as squeezing things together to raise the Butt!

Funny! LOL I just saw it as I read yours... changed'..., man I've got to start reading my reply with a little more attention.

Double radius shoulder, No thank you.
Belt, No thank you.

Really the only thing the 300 Weatherby has going for it is nostalgia. Nothing wrong with that.

And interesting read is Tom Beckstrand's, March 12, 2019, from Gun & Ammo Magazine review/article entitled; ".300 PRC Review: Everything You Need to Know". A quick web search should get it to pop up. Some of his analogies will make you either smile or cringe....

There are so many cartridges out there today that you can throw in the mix that really in my mind it is splitting hairs when you compare them. My preference is the 300 Win Mag, The 300 WBY ballistics are better sure but not by enough to make a switch from my go to caliber for the last 35 + yrs. If you put 2 guys on the range shooting out to 600 yds that have equal amount of shooting experience, one with a 300 WBY and the other with one of the 300 mag like calibers mentioned in previous posts, I think the results would be the same re: accuracy. I also believe the results in the field would be the same given the fact that the bullets were placed in the kill zone. Pick which one you want, then learn to shoot it proficiently. The guy behind the gun is more important than the aforementioned calibers. That's my 2 cents worth. Have fun.

I can say, the 300wby left's real bad taste in my mouth in recoil alone. I worked a load for my cousin's (no brake)vanguard and managed sub moa managing my "flinch" and accepting the inevitable.
That being said I just bought a Bobby Hart rifle in the "30Hart" a wby wildcat with a helical brake and a bit of weight to it. The thing shoots like a dream. I shot Bobby's personal rifle at a long range class in Northern PA and was impressed w/ its performance side by side w/ my buddy's MarkV.
My biggest challenge now as stated before is brass, the shop charges $2 each for fire formed.

I have slow-mo footage another friend of mine took through my spotting scope at 600yds on steel that's pretty awesome too
