A most INSANE auction.

I just love the comments on threads like these. When corporations make billions it's just business. When a fellow needs some cash and sells off a few primers to willing buyers, it's gouging. Funny how markets only apply in certain situations.

Let's get real about democrats and republicans. We saw more pro gun policies under Obama(suppressors and open carry laws) and more restrictions under trimp(bump stock ban). So let's get real here folks and open up your eyes.

I was at an auction last weekend and 500 rounds of 22lr went for $220. $75/box 9mm.
I didnt stick around long with idiot buyers like that....pretty sure I wasnt getting any good deals that day.

Buyers dont get screwed at auctions by sellers, they get screwed (out of a good deal) by other buyers that are idiots.
Good lord, I'm glad my gun store has plenty of 22 in stock. But I was worried 22 would be the last to go and the last to come back to availability so I bought a couple bricks just in case, since I didn't have much 22 ammo left.

I think he's being very polite. As well as completely correct. I believe the term is supply and demand. I bought silver at $12.30 in the spring. Today $25.00. This is a true example of supply and demand. If you have it and someone is willing to pay sell it. Capitalism is America!

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify. Not referring to op but more of the disparity in comments

Yes Dusty. You can certainly make your own primers. l saw a u-tube video where they were making primers using pistol caps off Amazon. A bit tedious too.

Yes it can be done and it does work. I experimented with it during the mid to late 2000s shortage. I was using them in 38spl and 30 30 with Alliant promo and cast bullets. Its tedious, but it works. I have a couple dozen rolls tucked away, just in case.

You can also make a substitute smokeless powder from ammonium nitrate and charcoal. It is hydroscopic and corrosive. But again, it does work.

None of this is 'match grade'. But if something needs killin...where there's a will there's a way.

Everyone is in panic buying mode. Supply and demand. I have been searching for CCI250s for the last couple of months with no luck. But I will not pay those outrageous prices as long as I have a few hundred primers left, I will hold out. Some people will pay anything.

Good thing I love shooting my bow as well. Shoot arrow, pull it from target and shoot it again hahah.

Brother, I don't know why your laughing, Your BOW & ARROW goes by, by in the knife Ban. How long do you think a razor blade mounted on a stick is going to get by the left side of the aisle???

Yeah I hear that. Laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside. I live in a stupid blue state, so it is twice as bad for me as you lucky red state fellas.

Just remember everyone, ALL the easy to mix up home made primer compositions are very corrosive. No problem if you clean right away with soapy water, then normal gun products and oiling.
