The Great PRIMER Depression of 2020

I am amazed at the number of people who didn't realize that Biden has a very detail gun control section on his campaign website. It details exactly what he plans to do, AND he has said this publicly. The worst being he does not support the Heller decision that affirmed the Individual right to own a firearm. And Harris believes the same thing. We've never had a President (presumptive) and Vice President that have publicly held this belief.
Here are the opinions of the Heller decision

The way I read it the issue in the case is not whether individuals have the right to bear arms but whether the state had any right to regulate the ownership, sale and distribution of arms. The conflict is whether you believe that the right to bear arms is an ABSOLUTE right which cannot be regulated in any way by the state. The Supreme Court already decided that it was not.

The Cornell University Law site located here https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution-conan/amendment-2 shows the quotes below. It specifically mentions the Heller case by name.

" However, the Court specifically stated (albeit in dicta) that the Second Amendment did not limit prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, penalties for carrying firearms in schools and government buildings, or laws regulating the sales of guns.18"

Many have said similar things before. Think of all the things the republicans promised us and didn't come through on (hearing protection act, national carry reciprocity). They care about keeping their jobs more than serving. I'll worry when the legislation starts moving, until then its talk. If everyone acts like theres a reason there should be a panic, then there will be a panic.
Trump was hamstrung by RINOs, democrats, social media, and the local and national news media. Along with everything he did accomplish with all this resistance, he did keep the 2nd amendment intact. Go ahead and wait for the legislation to start moving, but in the meantime start figuring out how you are going to like living without guns and ammo or being a felon.

I'm not wading into Trump with you, but what you highlighted in the spectrum of Republicans exists for Democrats too. A republican in the northeast isn't the same as one in the south, a democrat from West Virginia isn't the same as one from California. I don't think you'll see Biden's wishlist come any time soon. Executive actions on things, sure. But the serious stuff takes more than one person and that's where things get harder. People saying otherwise are either fear mongering or some has fear mongered them.

I think it will go back to normal by the summer of next year. Kind of like the 22LR shortage a few years ago. They may come back a little higher priced ~60 bucks a brick, but they'll be around. I've been pretty lucky with a local store about 12 minutes down the road. They still have all primers available (pistol and rifle) and I picked up 2 lbs of RL23 on Saturday. Only thing I've ever seen them out of is RL26, and that's only when I bought 3 of their remaining 4 lbs. They even have full shelves of ADG Brass and Hammer Bullets

So can you share the name of this shop?

You don't want to wade into Trump? You are no fun. You are right about everything you say. However, once down the slippery slope of gun rights, climbing back to the top will be a very dirty affair. I want it stopped before it gets started. No, I do not have the answer to that, but I do believe it is going to sneak up on us and bite us before we can stop it.

Slippery slope and all that for sure. With regards to Biden's website, it doesn't have me panic buying reloading supplies and I don't think it's responsible for the shortage. The shortage began in spring and has gotten worse, tons of new gun buyers and pandemic related panic buying has outstripped demand. If I had to guess, there's more mark up in a case of 9mm than 1,000 small pistol primers and manufacturers are focusing on that. If everyone keeps their cool we will work out way back to normal.

I'm not soooo suuure! I HOPE YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS RIGHT.

No second amendment here or first or third.... president in power, politicians, lobbyists can change ANY RULES,ANY LAWS! ANYTIME! That's why they are called AMENDMENTS! Just a word of caution
Ah-ha, you did study US political science. You know more about our law than 90 percent of this country's population.
