Call the warden. No brainer, if the statute provided by rebellare applies to your state.

In some jurisdictions, posting against some activities prohibit ANYbody, including the owner, from practicing those activities upon those lands, unless specific exclusions are made. Hence, "No Hunting" could be worded "No Hunting or Entry Without Written Permission from Landowner," with contact information being given. That's a lot more acceptable than my old notice of "Trespassers Will Be Found In The River" or the old 1% motorcycle club's notice of "Trespassers Will Be B*ttf**ked." (Rumor has it they really meant it.) There's always a way to get your point across.

There's a great video of hunter trespassing on YouTube. May help deter them. Word of mouth is usually the best advertising. Bear boards would work also.

On my land the authorities weren't interested in enforcement until we registered the farm as a hunting club, $1200.00 annual membership. Shifted the charges from trespassing to Felony Theft of Services. Anyone packing a gun or bow, releasing dogs etc. is by definition hunting. A few old highschool pals as members sealed the deal as legit business.
Not a perfect solution for everywhere, but it worked for us. The sheriff was flabbergasted when we ordered charges against his buddy. Negotiated the first one down to him paying the bill and never returning. Word got out quick.

The real problem with remote land is not being there as noted. However, if you have cell phone service a couple well placed cellular game cameras will send you a pic within minutes or less of the photo captured. If you have real time data, you could then contact the local CO, LEO's etc indicating real time trespass which gives them the ability to catch within the act of trespass. I would strongly recommend using these cameras to all the enforcement real time opportunity to catch the person. I would be they would jump at the chance since there is no innuendos any more. I caught you in the act! I would place them high enough to be out of sight but still able to grab good photo. You can also block the red LED indicator light with tape so the camera will not be seen while in IR mode.
Well our local conservation officers used to say that you know it's not your own property so you must realize your trespassing! Poaching tho will need concrete evidence. Definitely trespassing with intent to do something with a firearm. I don't know why your waiting for answers from us tho!
That just plain sucks, I'm in Florida and having your signs placed in the right place is a big step. But trespassing with a firearm is a big no no I would report it take pics of what you may find in the area, it will be hard to prove but enough notice to this person will get there attention. Also they may have something on him to start with .

He's admitted to trespassing on your land to hunt coyotes. If your state requires persons to have the landowners written permission on their person while hunting that other persons land, you should have enough with the video to sign a sworn complaint against him, both for the trespassing and the violation of hunting regulations. Run it past a game warden to see what your legal redress is in your state.

I've caught poachers in my property in Australia with the aid of game cameras I was able to have them prosecuted for illegal hunting and trespassing make sure your date and times are correct,,I can't see why it wouldn't be sufficient enough to have them prosecuted
I would recommend getting in touch with local LE, most likely the local game warden in the area your property is in. If you need help getting in contact with someone, PM me. I live in central WV, was born here and have lived most of my life here. I have some contacts in LE if you have any issues.
Also, WV does have the purple paint law. I would recommend that you hit trees around the perimeter of your property along with posted signs. We own a similar sized piece of property, been in my family since just after the Civil War. We have dealt with these same issues with poachers. To some, it seems to be a way of life around here.
This guy obviously thinks he can get away with it, most likely because he's been doing it so long. Some have posted about locals having a lack of respect for out of state land owners, this is true here. The majority of us aren't like this, we deal with the same morally defunct poachers as you. But we are here to keep an eye out as well as have decent neighbors that help us do the same. I wouldn't dare to go on to anyone else's property around here with a rifle and night vision. That is something that will get you hurt or worse in a hurry.

Most game wardens in this area will hammer him for what he is doing to you. He just needs to be put in his place and know your not going to just roll over and take it. But let the game warden take care of him, they have been good about working with us over the years.

On Our club we have so many No Hunting /No Trespassing signs , the even have the Number of the state law printed on the sign . The locals Trespass at will, on Quads and Walking dogs. Some times even on weekends when 20 guys are hunting Pheasant. You would have to have the Game Warden on Speed Dial.
