Is my Bergara Bergarbage?

This rifle is garbage. I just removed all the copper and tried again. 2 5 round groups of federletting the barrel cool in between.

I could have Parkinson's and be shooting in a tornado and have better groups than this with any other rifle I own.

I check my chrono with my 9mm. Consistent for the ammo I was using. Still a solid 100 FPS ES on the federal premium

He did say his smith mounted the scope and rings. Not saying they are good to go but my bet would be yes they are.

Running 10 more rounds thru it is no big deal. I have flinched in my day and blamed the gun.
I already had a buddy shoot it with the same results. And like shep said that ain't right. I can shoot 1moa all day long and sub frequently.

what a ridiculous situation. How much money I spent chasing my tail for nothing. Now I guess best situation they re-barrel it and I have to resize and fire form all my brass again. Or buy another batch$$$

Take it to a gun smi`t, if there is something wrong in the chamber they should be able to tell. It will give you more ammo to get Berger's to fix it. I have seen poor chambering jobs in factory guns that were easy fixed by a good smith.

I've been smithing 30 yrs and there is not much you can fix in a bad chamber. You can polish roughness or light rings out. But crooked Chambers are junk on a stick. Almost impossible to make right. And that is if you cut off the shank and recut it. Then run a boring bar in to get the reamer to run straight. If it's cut wrong it's garbage. On a hunting weight barrel you really can't cut much off the back like you can on a target barrel with a long cylinder.
Sorry about your new rifle not performing but hopefully they will take care of you with it.

If you did a ladder test with virgin brass then it's pretty much a useless test. Why don't you try doing load development starting at around 73 Gr of H1000 instead of 77gr. That's a bit hot as I have a Bergara B-14 ridge and 77 Gr was a hot load and gave me bad ES as well. You should find a good load around 75 Gr.

I'm shooting a 185 burger juggernaut and running 74 g of H 1000 and it works great for me I agree you should cut your load back try somewhere around 73 and work up from there Although this is a savage not a Bergara
