best production rifle out there

A full custom could probably be built within your budget using a Stiller Action, mid priced stock, standard Timney trigger, PTG Bottom metal, and a top of line barrel. Approx 2k for the parts. Not saying that this is a better option, just an option.

trying to figure out how to make the most of my dollars spent!
which of these production lines would be money well spent?
montana extreme 2
cooper backcountry m92
nosler liberty
sako carbonlight.

trying to figure out a semi-custom hunting rig. medium to light weight. but with sub moa accuracy out the box. i do reload but would like it to still be decent with factory ammo
I've handled several Christensen Arms rifles, and they all seem just fine, and very well crafted. Read nothing but good reviews on them, too. Hell, I almost bought one in .280 AI a few years back, but didn't need to spend the money at the time.

You should checkout the Christensen Arms Ridgeline in .280 Ackley Improved.

Not having ever had any of the guns listed here I have to go with what I do have.Remington's.I have a 280 and 25-06 that shoot's 1/2 inch groups at 300 yards.A 300 RUM that shoot inch groups at 500 meters I took my 35 Whelen and loaded up rounds from 200gr to 250 gr 5 bullet weight's 5 round of each.Shot them at the same target . 1 1/4 inch group of 25 rounds. My 338 will one them at 100 meters. All of these are stock rifle's except the triggers have been lightened a little .My 3006 pump will shot dime size groups .Someday if I ever have the chance to shoot some of these other guns I might rethink this .

I currently own 4 Cooper, all are great shooters but have had issue's with their magazine fitting properly. Some fit very loose and others you need to pry them out. New model coming out with bottom metal, no mag. I might try one of them. Now having said that, Fierce is a better gun, accurate and well build. As for Montana Rifles, lets just say they need a diet.

I would say you either have older rifles or got lucky. Remington's QC sucks. You may get a great one or you may get a dud.

I've never heard of a single 700 5R Milspec model having accuracy issues. So if in doubt, get a 5R Milspec model. It's a safe bet.

Same with Kimber but people talk praises about them...

I've never read anything about Kimber that made me want one.

We used to sell Kimber rifles and pistols at the gun store... I've said for 15+ years they should have stuck to making 1911's... Now they're fixing to build a plant here in Alabama. Curious what type of firearms they will be building there. If it's pistols, I might apply for a job as my footstep back into the industry. I love my Kimber TLE/RL II 1911... 4" full-bull with no bushing and a reverse cut guide rod spring, and Meprolight night sights...That sucker is surgically accurate. Only complaint is hte finish SUCKS! Mine has rubbed off down to the bare metal from wearing it IWB for a few years, and even got so bad the slide rusted to the barrel. Surprisingly though, it has a better trigger than most of the recent-production SA TRP Operators I've handled. I was really surprised by that, because the old TRP Operators had a hell of a good trigger in them. It seems SA is starting to slip in QC these days, too. I hope they can get that corrected.

You could get a Browning Hells Canyon for about half the price and still have a rifle with all the accuracy you want and maybe better than some of the others.

I understand the Milsoecs get special treatment at the factory. I have owned 4 Mil-specs(3-308, 1-300WM) since they were introduced. The 308 chambers were dimensionally identical and used the same handloads to produce .25MOA accuracy. They shot factory match loads at .5MOA. All, very nicely fInished and reliable. I only tuned or replaced the triggers.
