Your thoughts

I used belted mag for years. I changed to neck sizing my cases. Stop the separations, but to only lose them to primer pockets in about 12 rounds. So I was loading hot for sure. Now looking at shoulder bump instead of neck sizing only. I have been and still working on changing my dies over bushing dies. To many die needed to make the change all at once.
I might add "Great Info".

@Wedgy

Do the lower charges look the same as the top end?
In what way? the way the brass looks?
On the lower end I had a few primers sticking proud of the case head and some soot on the necks.
Thanks for all the feed back fellas! ya seems like it's a quick barrel.
Do the primers in the lower charges look the same as in the higher charges as far as flatness ? Your photo looks like you might be getting a slight crater on the edge which is a sign of pressure (it can also be a chamfered firing pin hole).

Ya the one on the far right in the pic is not cratered but it is as close as you can get and that primer is slightly flatter then the rest but not completely flattened. The lower charges have primers that are still really rounded on the edges. I think I will just call that 81g charge max. I have never had any cratering issues with this action with any previous barrels.

I'm working on the same load development you are. 300WM 26" Kreiger barrel. .005" off the lands. Ladder test at 150yds.

I saw 2 distinct nodes so I did 2 3shot groups of each. 74.7gr. At 300yds gave me one group at 1.11moa and a second at .692moa. The second node was at 76.6gr and 1st group at 300yds was .532moa and the second was a .99moa. Bad velocity spread for the group shooting so Ive trimmed up the brass, collet sized it all and turned the necks. Will head out again Thursday morning early for more grouP TESTING. IF GOOD ILL PUSH TO 1K.

Moose, I'm working on starting up a new build 300Win Mag, I Have not even fired it yet. 700 blueprinted 26-inch Benchmark with the Sendero contour. I am going to be using Peterson brass. My question is, are you using H1000 with Fed mag primers? If not, what?

H1000 has been my best performer as I use mainly 200gr bullets and up. Federal primers have always worked well.

So you had bad es and sd? On both charge weights? You thing that will settle down once the barrel breaks in?

I hear you about primer pockets. That was a going concern of mine until someone pointed out a you tube video about tightening the pockets. I made myself the little tools and gave it a try. Works like a hot ****. No more scrapping brass for loose primer pockets.

Wondering if I should keep going I was only expecting 2900fps range with this short of a barrel.

Thanks
Looks like the last one on the right your primer edges are just starting to square up and get sharp I think you are there.

I haven't gotten that far yet. It looks like it would work. More than one way to skin a cat.
