Yet another caliber comparison. 300Win Mag or 7mm rem mag

I have a friend who's favorite round is the 7mm rem.mag. He has lived in Wyoming all his life, he is in his 70's. He has shot a lot of elk, and used a few other calibers/cartridges. He shot a cow with the 7 mag. that was as he but it wat further than any one should even think of shooting. The elk were going up over a ridge single file, he aimed at the one at the top and hit the fourth one down. And as he would say just because you can don't mean you should.

I like the versatility of the 300 in bullet weight selection. But, I have been eyeing a 7mm Mag lately...
