Worst Post Shot Powder Smell

Probably the most technical LRH post ever.

I nominate Hodgdon/Hornady Superformance as probably the worst post shot powder smell I've ever used.

Recovered first Power Hammer in the dirt.

H380 smells great. Eley rimfire ammunition doesn't smell like roses for sure.

Funny thread. Before I lost all sense of smell in Dec 2020 to Covid, I could tell a difference in a bunch of powder burn smells.

Retumbo, H1000, and H4350 are very distinct. A lot of the Reloader (17, 19, 23, 26) are pretty similar. And VV5 series are similar to each other, but definitely different than other manufacturers.

Not sure about worst, but Federal paper target 12 gauge has got to be the best.

Superformance is great powder in my 6.5 Creedmoor and 130 grain Bergers.

Light off a chamber full of IMR4198 that has a wool wad on top of it and it smells like…….yep….burned lamb. SML guys know what I'm talking about.

Gunpowder burning is essentially the sharpie of the outdoors. Cant get enough of it.
