Why, why, why?!

Ladies and gentleman:

I am .300 Dakota. I am an addict...

I decided I'm to the stage of life that I'm never going to need or use a significant portion of my collection and decided to help my estate out and get rid of some things. So far, I've gotten shed of 2 scopes and 1 rifle.

Unfortunately, I'm trying to acquire 2 more rifles and a 1911... sigh. That means I'll need more scopes. My wife's patience is very thin...

I've sold 8 pistols, 10 rifles and 3 shotguns in the last 2 years all because I needed the money.
I still have more than I can use and some I haven't shot for many years. Good thing is 5 of the pistols and 6 of the rifles I won on $10.00 raffle tickets on AES. So made good money on them.
I took out my old Rem 870 shotgun last Feb. and took it with me goose hunting. I loaded for chuker, huns and pheasant. On the way to the resivoir some chuker ran across the dirt road. My buddy went up one side and me the other. He spooked them to me and on first shot I dropped one.
I hadn't shot that shotgun since shooting a turkey in Az. 1990. 👍🏻
It's one of the first guns I bought. I'll never sell it. I have a few other I won't sell. I have two safe's Not big ones but packed and can't get another rifle in them. I took out spacers so I could get more in them. I had to buy gun socks for all them because bolts were dinging up stocks.
Maybe some day I can buy a bigger safe but I'm good to go now.
As long as I don't buy or win another rifle...🤔

I want to give you guys another perspective on having alot of guns. My grandfather was a collector of high end guns. Mostly English double shotguns some American too. Purdy, Holland and Holland Westley Richards Winchester Model 21's type of high end. When he passed away my grandmother didn't and still doesn't know what to do with all these guns.

Yes you can have an estate sale or go consignment but we're talking about big money and not easily liquidated items only worth top end to serious collectors.

I know what most of this stuff is worth but I'm about the only one in the family.

DONT leave your family with all this stuff to clean up. I've been through this twice now trying to clean up sell off family estates. It's not a gift. It's a huge burden to your kids and your family. They are trying to lead their own lives and have their own kids and stuff going on.

Something to seriously think about. It's all fun until someone else is dealing with your pile of stuff. My wife and I have agreed all our stuff will be whittled down as we approach old age.

I am in that boat with expensive clutter, much of it not firearms related.
For big collections, there are reputable vendors on sites like GunBroker that sell off collections.
I have bibles worth hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Only to the right buyer on eBay.
No one else would have a clue to what potential values are.

Concrete tension slab house here in Arizona . I've thought about opening up the space under the stair landings. It looks fairly easy and if done right would be a hidden space.
My guns keep having babies it's not my fault.
Hey brother, I'll be joining you out in Arizona in a few months, I'll be out visiting looking for a house this week.
