Thoughts on when the heck components will be back?

The fundamental root cause is not people willing to pay high prices or even scalpers. The core problem is the shortage, which leads to an imbalance in supply and demand that takes an orderly economic process and creates disorder.

If people want something badly enough, it will drive people to create supply and fulfill the demand.
Actually, the core problem is not the shortage. All the manufacturers have stated they distributed more powder, bullets, primers and factory ammo in 2020 than they ever have, even with the pandemic. The core problem is simply the unprecedented demand for these products caused by the pandemic, civil unrest in large cities and the uncertainty leading up to the election, and the scary outcome of the election. Exacerbated by the over 8 million new gun owners who had no clue what "normal prices" were prior to 2020, and their willingness to pay what most of us consider to be exorbitant prices. Prices will probably never return to "normal", but if we are lucky, might increase by only 30% or so from 2019, once the panic subsides.

Now is the time to give the trigger finger a rest, take up golf, buy up all the tees, balls, and clubs.
Start a new hoarding fad, and maybe the hoarders will forget about the loading components. LOL

Interesting discussion if you throw in ammunition and firearms are considered "essential" during emergencies so if that is truly the case, how is buying up to resell at inflated prices and different than doing the same with TP? Water? Food supplies?
It's not diffrent. THAT'S the point. We all know it happens, and it's legal, but most of us would not sleep well at night doing it!

I was recently on Gunbroker and saw 500 primers being sold for $125.00, shipping was $60.00 and a 3% credit card surcharge. The only way to bring things back down to somewhat close levels is too not pay those prices AND wait it out. Simply the law of Supply and Demand.

Depending on how fast the leftist (Socialist) agenda progresses, it may improve in a year or so or never "normal" again. Normal meaning prior to 2020.

Personally, I believe we have entered a new "normal" in America, and as the next few years pass, shortages will be a common term.

Well if Democrats get their way, which so far they have, you will likely see reloading go away. Ammo and guns will be heavily regulated to the point recreational shooting will go away.

You would think the manufactures would buy more equipment and ramp up production. This has been an on going things for many years now. As soon as they start getting caught up another political uproar happens and here we go again.
They did. I watched a video from one of the ammo manufacturers and spoke with Hodgdon / IMR.
Some manufacturers are running literally 24 hours a day.
They all ramped up production to satisfy worldwide demand for completed cartridges first.
All primers, powders, bullets, and necessary brass are going there.
Once that normalizes, they will be manufacturing for the reloaders again.
According to those I've reached out to, they state that by June, larger quantities of everything should be hitting the shelves again.
The only thing that disappoints the snot out of me is manufacturers and retailers now know how much desperate people will spend on their products.
I doubt we'll ever see regular pricing again.
To all who gouged during this shortage, may karma hit hard.

it doesn't bother me that people are trying to buy the components they need for reloading the guns that they posses ,,,, but it does bother me if they are buying up components just to , sometime in the future , resell to make a profit !! I think people need to be realistic about how many rounds they think that each gun will be shot during their lifetime !! I mean why buy and cache enough for 3000 rounds when , if your like me , you'll probably never shoot more than 1000 rounds through a gun !!
I guess I am not like you.

Things still haven't turned back to relatively normal here in the eastern part of Canada. However, Just picked up 1600 fed match primer for ~ $135 Canadian. Went and visited this local gunsmith who lives in the sticks. You know. So far in the woods you need to come out some just to hunt. Anyway, Was shocked that he sold them to me. Figure he must have 10s of thousands. Stashed away in a bunker. He left and returned with a box and half. 1000LRP and 600SRP
