Shawn I have a question for you about barrell length. Is it worth building a 338 edge with a barrell length fo less than 30 inches. I am thinking about one with a 26 inch barrell?

It is if you are going to shoot heavier bullets, if you were going to use say a 225 Accubond I don't believe the gain is worth the effort.

Shawn, What I am thinking is change a Ultra Mag 338 over to a Edge. It would be chambered for the 300 gr bullets. It is a Rem 700 bdl so I would also convert it over to a single shot. So are you thinking that even with a 26 inch barrel it will still be better than the 338 Ultra?

Its a great looking rifle, I really like the look of those A5 stocks. What is the weight of rifle without scope? (apologise if its on the thread- if it is I didnt see it)
