The Berger 156 EOL is done

I got mine today and posted some initial info for 6.5 Sherman. Very nice meplats and good base to ogive consistency.

I had them back ordered from Grafs and was pretty surprised to get a shipping notice. Should arrive tomorrow. Glad they finally are alive and in the wild, I was speculating on them when I built a 7.5 twist .264 WM. If it shoots them as good as it does the 147 eldm I will be thrilled!

Comparing a few loads I am currently running in a PRC, and a predicted load with the 156 EOL, and the distance at which energy drops below 1000 ft/lbs, and predicted drop at 1000 yards (sighted in at 300)
156 EOL MV=2950. 1145 yards -207.4
150 SMK MV=2980. 1140 yards -202.0
160 Matrix MV=2935. 1085 yards -215.9
147 ELD-M MV=2990. 1030 yards -209.4
142 ABLR MV=3050. 1045 yards -200.1
143 ELD-X MV=3010. 1000 yards -208.2
For those following the 25 cal 131 blackjack from a 25 PRC
131 BJ MV 3240. 1140 yards -172.7

Thank you for posting this. I've been following the 131 blackjack and trying to figure out if it has any advantage over the 6.5's. I'm guessing it would take the the 26 nosler with a lot more recoil to get those 156 EOL' to open the gap.

Running the numbers through shooter. My 25SST at 3230 with the 131s and the 26nos at 3250 156s, the wind drift is equal in a 5mph 3cl wind at 1000 yards

I did the calculations on the blackjack too. In a 25 creed@3000 the wind drift is the same as my 6.5 creed @ 2850 with a 147eld. I am going to try the bergers in my 6.5 Saum for hunting. Those 147eldms shoot great in my 1000 yd rifle.
