Don't you think that the Win Mag. is almost duplicating their 7 Mag.?

This is what we have at the house, 223,243,260,6.5x55,7-08, 280, 30-06- 7mag , 300win , 300 weatherby.

264WM. 140s w/Retumbo or 156s w/ N570. Everything available except the powder .

Id say 264 win mag or 7 stw. If it doesnt have to be a screamer id say 284 win or Shehane. But thats changing the bolt face too. And put a muzzle brake on it. Lighter recoil is nice no matter what you're shooting.

I was referring to the "high speed" part. With the front runners s being 257 Weatherby, 264 Win Mag., and 7 STW It's my impression that they're after something really flat. I liked your article, just didn't think it was applicable here.

I'll go the other way since you seem to be open to weatherby and I'm a big fan of 6mm.

105-115 bergers at 3350/3250
Flat, fast, no recoil zaps deer & antelope like lightning from Zeus's trident no need for a brake.
Less powder than a true magnum
Brass last longest of all weatherby cartridges except 300.

That may constitute a new topic, you may want to start a separate thread. I started this thread regarding cartridge choices for my son. As far as dies, mostly rcbs dies and have many accurate loads with them.
