I have the opportunity to purchase a Leupold VX-3LR. However I can not decided which model to buy. I have narrowed it down to the 4.5-14 and the 6.5-20. I will be buying the fine duplex model and I have the mark 4 rings and bases to mount it in. I am shooting a .300 wsm and have been handloading for about 5 years. It will be used primarly as a hunting optic but I do shoot from a benchrest at gongs out to a thousand yards as well. Price isn't an issue because of my supplier, it is only a $50. difference between the two. Please give me suggestions and your experience. Thank you.

6.5-20X50

Since you mention bench shooting and 1000 yd stuff. You can turn it down for hunting if you want to. Duplex reticle.......no need to worry about power setting for mils or moa dashes to work properly, just set it on the power you want to use.
