Rear shooting rest while hunting

I'm far from a couch potato, LOL. I've shot sheep and goats out to 500 yards off of my backpack. I'm going to Tajikistan in November after Marco Polo sheep and an Ibex and I know shots there can be quite long. I'm always trying to improve my shooting skills and extend my effective range. Thanks for the comments.

Not sure where that is, but with the current world unrest, I prefer staying stateside. Besides, I don't like flying.

Just wondering what most of you are using as a rear rest while in the field hunting. I have a Javelin Long Bipod that I use as a front rest and I love it because it's light and easily detachable. I have a Bipod Big Buddy and I like the concept of it being light and it doesn't take up much pack space and I have many sandbags that I can use too. Sandbags are heavy and take up a lot of pack space, Bipod Big Buddy, I practiced a lot with, and do well with out to about 600 yards. Just looking for advice on a rear rest that easily deployable and that is light and compact enough for backpack hunting.
there is a company that makes light weight bags, i use them as they are light as easy to carry ! im thinking dog gone is the name but not positive !

I use the bag my Sea to Summit backpack cover came in. Filled a sandwich bag full of the corn material from my brass polisher and stuffed it in. Standing on end I get 5 or 6 inches of lift on its side 2 or 3. Been working fine for 3 years now.

I went to Home Depot got there canvas zip bags I think you get 3-4 for about 6 dollars then got some scent free cat litter filled the bags
Works awesome you ended up with 4 bags for under 20 dollars

Now .... don't laugh too hard ...till you try it! I use a 5" piece off of a POOL NOODLE. You can cut a couple of pieces ..different sizes. weigh nothing...are supple and you can either use a little down pressure or squeeze them to gain or loose a little height ....cheap as hell...if you want them a little more durable a wrap of duct tape and it will last till you throw it away.

I use the Bipod Big Buddy too! Use it with a tall Harris bipod. So I know where you are coming from. It's great for long range shots that have to be taken from a seated position.

Don't think those who replied understand what you are talking about, cause they all started talking about their specially bag of rice.

You cannot ALWAYS LAY PRONE, like hunting antelope on flat ground in tall sage. This is where the Bipod Buddy shines. Hell I even have one of the short ones. But I also have about a dozen different size and weights of specitialy bags of rice too...;)

My wife made me a bag that is 2x4x7 stuffed with half walnut cleaning media and half Styrofoam pellets. This works great for the short bipod, but I use my pack for taller bipod. Setting I use my pack under my elbow against my body.
