I've decided to throw a 6mm into the mix this year. I wanted something a little faster, flat, and to sister up to my custom 260. Rem. I've pretty much settled on a 6x47 lapua and the parts are finally starting to show up, so far I have

- manners t5 stock,
- badger bottom metal
- jewel trigger

Parts still needed are

- trying to purchase a stiller tac 30 off a friend that is still in the box and is 1 serial number different to my 260 (xxxx95 and his being xxxx96) if not then a rem 700
- benchmark or bartlein sendero or medium Palma 1:7.5 26-28" bbl
- apa little bastard brake on its way

Getting excited already

That will be a fun gun. I love my 6.5X47 with 130 Bergers. What bullet do you plan on shooting? The X47 case is super tough and efficient. You should get some good velocity with almost no recoil with a 6X47.

Yah I'm excited about it forsure! I originally wanted a 6.5x47 lapua when I built my 260 but I was new to the game and figured Start off easy. Now I am super happy with the rifle but the lapua still sits in the back of my mind and is the reason for the 6x47 lapua. I haven't tried the 130's in the 260 just the 140's

I plan on shooting 105's Bergers but might toss some 115's just to try

Krieger has some 7.5" twist 236/243 barrels in a 28" modified #5 contour on the shelf.

I live in Canada making it rather hard to get barrels from the states and extremely expensive. I can get my hands on a benchmark sendero or medium Palma in 1:8 and 1:7.5 twist just seeing the back order time on a bartlein right now. I can only find Krieger in 1:8.5 or 1:8 in heavy palma. I appreciate that though!!

Not sure where you have all looked Matt. I am also in Canada and it can be very hard to source parts. Im sure you already know and checked these businesses but here is where I'd look.
-Big Horn sales (Gary Eiken)
-Hirsch precision
-North shore barrels
-RPS International
Out of all these I prefer Big Horn Sales. Gary is awesome to deal with.

Thanks but I have looked into them. Like you mention gary is phenomenal to deal with. I've purchased a few things from him, 2 stillers, a benchmark, jewel trigger, ptg and badger bottom metal and every time he has been increasible. I'd like to try a bartlein this time as I've never had one but if I can locate one then I'll be going back to gary and getting a benchmark as my benchmark shoots too good to be true!

I believe Shawn at north shore barrels closed his business a couple years back?

Yeah Hirsch Precision is the only place I know that carries Bartlein up here.

Just a little update, I ended up purchasing a kelbly atlas tactical for this build. So far very impressed with the finish and the machining! Can't wait too get this rifle going
