Old A-Max vs Newer A-Max Construction

Anyone have information on actual construction of older red box with white lettering A-Max vs newer version with same box as ELD bullets?
I'm curious because I've read years worth of great hunting results with A-Max until the ELDs came out. A-Max is still available in one or two calibers but no more word of the hunting success since the advent of the great, wonderful ELD line!
Looking for actual experience...

I know why, Its because you are posting in the classifieds for sale forum.
I don't see much difference between the Amax and the ELDM. I think the new ELD-M is old AMAX with a better tip that doesn't melt from air friction. Gel tests show the Eldm works well as a long range hunting bullet.

I think he's saying that there are many forums and sub forums here. Much more than just the classifieds that you posted in, which is why it prompts a for sale or WTB in the classifieds.

There never was a 225 amax in 30 cal. The 225 eld m is wonderful in my .300 win mag as a single feed load. Stupid accurate and emphatically killing. Bigger tip on it than some of the others means a bigger hollow point underneath. It opens up…it really opens up

My shots will max out at 400 but most under 200.
I have the older and the newer A-Max in 7mm 162gr and .30 168gr.
I'm assuming they may blow big holes under 200 yards since they are not the heaviest for caliber...

In 2011 I used the 208 A-MAX out of the 300WM at ~2900fps on African Plains Animals.

Super accurate but NOT impressed in its ability to deliver DRT performance.

A few years ago it was a different story using the 212gr ELD-X out of the same rifle.

Both very memorable hunts but for different reasons...

The only difference to the new ELDM and the Old Amax is the tip. Straight from the mouth of the Hornady engineer's. The old Amax tip was soft and could deform in flight. The New ELDM solves that with a better tip. I still have a bunch of the 30 cal Amax in 168 and 178.

I don't think the 178 Tip melts at 308 velocity, likely more of a problem at RUM speeds.
I saw a point or 2 in a Deer even though the bullet exited, this from a 308. The tip still looked good, the Deer
not so good!

Sorry for the confusion...I guess I should have posted this picture from the beginning to be clear.
This is the older A-Max vs newer A-Max. The new box is same as ELD series box but the A-Max bullets from both look identical.
My question: "Is the construction between these two bullets identical although they were packaged in the new box.
I am asking for hunting purposes.
Is AMP jacket addition any biggie for hunting?

I am aware of the ELD difference.

I've found green tips from .30 Nosler BT's in deer as well.
