I own a NX8 2.5x20 and the eye relief is minimal but since it sits on a 308 I'm not too concerned. I like the scope for the price and was thinking about another one in 4x32 for a larger magnum rifle. I haven't been able to get my hands on one to look through so need some input from someone with first hand knowledge. Is there great eye relief in the 4x32 then the 2x20? I'm looking at the second focal plane scopes.

I'm also considering the ATACR 5x25 but would rather save a few bucks with the NX8.

I have 10 nx8's, 3 atacr's, 2 TT's, 3 zco's and various leup's. I prefer the 4x32 over 2x20's. The 2x20's needed another 1/2"of tube. The shorter tube in front does not allow for a lot of adjustment because it is so short. If your eye is where it's suppose to be then the eye box is fine. Get either way of it .2" of an inch and yes the eye box is quirky. But honestly I can say I've never had an issue with them.

I agree the 2x20 needs just a slightly longer tube. I have it mounted as far forward as I can but an extra 1/2" would have been ideal. I know the 4x32 is a longer tube/scope so I'm hoping I can mount it where my eyes need it to be.

The SFP version of the 2.5-20 NX8 has less eye relief than the FFP. The exit pupil is also smaller according to the specs on their website. I had a hard time getting a ring and a bubble level on the front tube, but finally got it.

Yeah I don't get the different specs on the nx8 2.5x20's on their website, the ffp is listed as having a bigger fov than the same power 2nd focal scope, not sure if that's a misprint or what but I think it's the only one on the site that has different specs so not sure what that's all about. Here's the specs of the 1st vs 2nd focal.

I don't think it's a misprint. I did the same double take when I noticed it

longtine, would the ATACR 4-16X44 BE A BETTER CHOICE THEN THE NX8 2-20x50.Would be on a 6.5 Prc,not really my LR outfit

I think the 4-16x42 ATACR with the locking turret and rotation limited windage and the 4-32 NX8 are both fine options on a hunting rifle. You probably won't use above 20x on the NX8, but that doesn't really matter.
