New Member seeking Elk hunt advice

I just found this site and registered in hopes of finding help with my first Elk hunt out west. I have hunted White Tail for 25 years in Minnesota and Wisconsin. My nephew gave me a dream Christmas gift of a trip out west to hunt Elk in the fall of 2015. Neither have ever gone and we are hoping to get some idea's from this site. I would like to start by asking if my Browning A-bolt Stainless .270 WSM with a Zeiss Conquest 3.5 - 10 x 44 is an adequate setup? We are thinking about Montana but are just starting to plan this and would really appreciate idea's. We are looking for a guided hunt. Thanks and we look forward to all responses.​
