    Leupold Authorization Policy
Leupold has changed their distribution strategy. All retailers must be authorized by Leupold and will be required to submit an application on the Channelsync portal agreeing to the Authorized Leupold Retailer Agreement and Policy. Dealers will be notified of the status following Leupold’s review. Leupold has conveyed that listings and sales on third party platforms (Amazon, eBay, etc.) are not permitted without submission and approval of a separate Authorized Online Seller agreement. To begin this process, please list all websites and URLs on your application where you request to market and sell Leupold products.

On July 23rd the Authorized Leupold Retailer network goes live. At that time, Leupold’s two-step Distribution partners will only be able to fulfill orders to Authorized Leupold Retailers in good standing within the established network.

    Please complete your application today!

that would be a great start. I have wondered if these chinese leupolds might actually track better.

What happened to Leupold? Did they get bought out this year? I have had custom shop work done several times in the past changing reticles and turrets. Last year I decided I was going to sell off all my other scopes and go full Leupold. This year I called them up to ask for a scope to write a review and received absolutely nothing, not even a return phone call. I also called to get a quote to change a reticle and turret on a vx3 and the price was triple what I had paid for the same service in August. I’m not impressed whatever the cause of the new business practices.

Leupold may be getting an even smaller slice of the long range pie if prices go higher. I already find it hard to justify one of their scopes with the prices they ask for them.

I gave up on Leupold a few years ago. For decades, they were the only brand I bought, and I still have about 30 of their scopes, but I'm done with anything new that is marked with that logo.

I have to admit it has been ~15 years ago the last time I purchased a Leupold scope, they still work like a champ. I did however got me a Leupold HD binocular last year and I am very very please with it thus far.

Too many other good choices and at competitive prices to go with Leupold anymore. Shame. Still, there are a number of casual hunters that will still line up to buy their products.

Unfortunately not many competitors that I know of if you're looking for lightweight scopes, especially with an exposed elevation turret.

This does tend to be true, if you want more magnification. Around 28 oz or more for anything 20x or more is about as light as most come. However if your good with 14-18x, you can get some scopes right in the weight Leupold has.

I called the custom shop last week and the price to change a reticle was almost double the last time I called (I think around 6-8 months ago).

I do love my VX5-HD though and will continue to buy them for future builds.
