I was super excited for this scope. As a LR hunter I wanted something like a 6-24 FFP. Should keep a super useable reticle. I was hoping for a scope that would be just as good or better then my mark5's and be trustworthy. The trustworthy part we will have to see… I have 6 mark5's and love them except I don't trust them. But then… they didn't release my favorite reticle, the pr1. I'm an moa guy and only released the pr2 which is a Christmas tree style. Damnit.

If the darn things were a little more reliable, I think the Mark 4 fits the bill. Illuminated, not super light, but not heavy, 52mm objective, excellent mag range, the turret upgrades seems nice (numbering and windage) etc. But I'm sure it's still built on the same design.

Just can't comprehend why they keep leaving the PR1 reticles out, I shoot mils and it's the only one with .2 hashes, everything else is .25 which is just off to me. Would love to see the 2.5-10 with PR1mil.

Got to play them the MK4HD yesterday-- well thought out line of scopes, MIL and MOA options, SFP and FFP options and the glass appeared to be very good from looking around just inside at the show. I also like the M1C3 turrets.

The LPVO and the 2.5-10x are 30mm tubes, fixed parallax. The 4.5-18 and up models are 34mm tube and not the much less common 35mm of the Mk5 models. They are sticking to their MOA reticles (PR1/PR2) and I'd like something a bit more hunting friendly in an FFP scope.

Illumination- some models yes, some no-- not sure the rhyme or reason on which.

For the street price I think they will be competitive! They are definitely undercutting the NX8s and the Zeiss FFPs but far enough away from the VX3/5 lines that I don't think they'll be competing for the same customers.
That sucks the 2.5-10 is fixed paralax

Is the 4.5-18 available in SFP? Don't see that it is on the price list posted above.

How are the turrets? They actually click? Or are the complete junk like the vx5, I just bought a ATACR and was going to buy a mark 4 to try on my kids hunting rifle.

Initial results are positive. Its light, seems well built and tracks well. The reticle is well calibrated and functional. I only shot about 50rds so far but I'm very pleased so far. I wouldn't hesitate to use this on a hunting rifle either.

What's so untrustworthy about your 6 mark5hds?
