Hi,

Just got a 7MM WSM with 24" BBl. Wanted to shoot 160 gr. Accubonds.

Does anyone have any advice on what powder works with this combo?

Thanks,

Dee

H1000, 4831sc and RL 17 as well. Good luck finding any of these on the shelves! Gotta shoot what you can get these days.

I know some are getting great results with 4831sc and 162 Amax's, So I'm sure that powder would do you justice with the 160 AB's.

I am shooting H1000 along with 168 Bergers and it's good enough that I quit trying to better it.

I still want to try the 162 Amax / 4831 combo, but just haven't got to it yet.

Like most that have replied I use H 4831sc in my 23" barreled 7mm WSM
and H 1000 was to slow and fouled bad in the short barrel.

I might have tried a hotter primer for the H1000 but the 4831sc worked so well
I gave up on the H 1000.

Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

Dee

p.s. What is going on with the powder supply? I looked to try and find this stuff and it's nowhere.

I am using H1000 behind a 162 Amax,I also have a 27" barrel.
Just curious, what kind of velocity are some of you guy's getting?

In a 24" 1 in 9 twist Lilja barrel these are my velocities with the 7mm WSM.

With the factory Winchester supremes with 140 gr accubond = 3261 ft/sec.

The H 4831sc load with the 140gr accubond =3347 ft/sec and a .177 5 shot group.

The H 4831sc load with the 160gr accubond =3009 ft/sec My Elk load for walk hunting.

I would have listed the powder charges but they should be worked up to.These loads
are stout but not MAX.
