My New Bench Source Annealer in Action

Just used my new Bench Source annealer for the first time. What a nice machine! Easy to set and adjust. Stops the case in the flames to rotate for an adjustable amount of time so you can get the temp just right. Two torches allows even flame to neck and shoulder. Highly adjustable torch holders. The results are awesome. All cases have an even heat line 360 degrees. I drop em on a damp dish towl and roll em away as they cool. Did 100 .338 Lapua in about 15 minutes. Two thumbs up for this machine.

LOL, these old cases are headed for their 9th time around and still look good.

Broz, thanks for the pics. I saw a video not too long ago and it is a sweet machine. If I'm not mistaken I think it even drops the cases out the bottom once annealed.

Yes, the far on in the pic is ready to drop. The damp dish cloth I have under the machine will soften it's fall and start a quick cool down.

Well enjoy it, it is an awesome looking machine. From the brass pics it looks like the annealing was very consistent. I'll bet your local buddies will want you to do theirs.

Nathan, I don't remember exactly what the price was. But here is a link to them. Give them a call or shoot them an e-mail. They are great to work with and did exactly what they said they would do. Good people.

New Case Neck Annealing Machine

I got one a few months ago and that is exactly the same experience I have had.

The machine is a cinch to setup and use and does a beautiful consistent job.

I anneal 204 ruger cases, 7-300WSMs, 308s, 6BRs, .270s and 7Mags and the results are always the same and repeatable.

You tend to remember the cost of things you are dissatisfied with because it was not money well spent...its easy to forget the price on a machine like this.

I am interested in your torch set up, since most of pictures you see of these is with two of the "Blue Bottle" torches. I notice you have two hoses going to what?
Is it a propane or acetylene set up?

Hi Dave, good catch! Yes, I had a set of hoses made up that "T" and connect to a gas grill LP tank. The smaller bottles will sometimes change the heat of the flame as you tip them or as they get closer to empty. The hoses and the bigger bottle eliminate this and both torches always have the same amout of LP going to them. Plus, it is a cleaner look and you dont have the weight of the bottles hanging on your torch holders. Also, I just recently purchased a small two shelf cart with casters. The annealer sits nicely on top and the tank on the lower shelf. When not in use I cover it with a cheap gas grill cover and roll it out of the way.

I realize this is a dated and dormant thread but I have this annealing machine too and would DEFINITELY be interested in the set up you have for the propane torches. I figured you are you using a 20 lb. BBQ grill bottle with what hoses and adaptors? Can you post some more detailed information on the components you assembled to set up your burners? Thanks!

I don't know what he is using but about 20 years ago I bought a tee and some hoses to run propane lanterns off a large tank. I think I bought them at Walmart.

Yes, it is an old talk from a gas grill. The hoses were made up at a hose shop professionally and ends are crimped on. It simply comes up from the tank and T's with a brass "T" then goes up to the torch heads. I think a propane company should have the fittings to do this for you. But take the tank and a torch head with you to match up fittings.
