Well I finally scored today 1 more day till spring season closed. Was up at about 7000 feet and hunting the creek drainages where the lush spring grass was. Spotted this boar at 378 yards having a fresh salad for lunch. I went prone and looked him over through my Nightforce NXS. No cubs in sight and he looked big enough for the next to the last day. He was facing me so I waited for him to feed to his right and sent a 210 Berger VLD from my custom 300 WM @ 2995 fps. The break of the trigger felt good and he sprinted about 30 feet and piled up. Done deal!, and never kicked or moved one iota. Complete pass through with about a 1 1/2" exit. Nice hole through the heart.
This rifle is becoming my best hunting buddy. It has proven to be very affective and has taken a nice Bull at 803, antelope at 650 and 800+ and also the yote at 1008 yards. I think it's a keeper.
Here are the hero pics.
