When I decided to build a precision 6.5 Creedmoor, I went with components that were quite expensive, so I expected quality components for the price. I chose a Defiance action, Bartlein barrel, and MDT chassis. The barrel and action worked flawlessly, but the MDT LSS XL chassis seemed to be made from very thin aluminum at the forend. My groups were all sub MOA, but I was getting weird flyers at times. I thought it may be the inexpensive Amazon bipod I was using, so I purchased one that added a wider stance to see if that would help. What I happened to notice waa the forend of the chassis was flexing, and the folding stock seemed to rattle a bit.
I found that the bolt holding the folding stock to the chassis must have loosened with recoil!
I took that apart and reinstalled using loctite. Its now rock solid.
The forend was harder. I installed an ARCA rail on the forend, which helped a little. The real fix came by adding two long picatinny rails on either side of the forend.
The LSS chassis now feels as solid as the MDT TAC21 on my 30-06.
