Just a better of of the magnetospeed attached via rod bedded into stock.

so the rod is bedded especially for the magnetospeed? that's a pretty slick way to eliminate the barrel contact. How's it function as far as reliability? does the extra frame allow the strap to stay tight the whole time?

Yes. I works very well. I fired 50 rounds over and it never needed re tightening. I took the aluminum rail out of the Fore end of the stock and bedded the rod into the slot. And use the same screws that hold the aluminum rail in place to screw the rod to the stock. Then strapped the magnetospeed to the rod and bent the rod to fine tune where the chrono sits. I have it perfectly lined up and it works really well. It recorded every shot. I am very pleased with the set up.
