Hey Yall,

I am working on my 300prc and thought I would drag yall along my process of ladder testing for the first time. Feel free to throw in input wherever.

Here is my loads so far.

Seekins Havak Element 300prc
Nightforce Nx8
Lapua Brass
205 Bergers
Winchester Magnum Primers
N570 79.0-84.0gr
.020 off lands

I shot out at 550 yards to start. Got sighted in and started shooting. Took me much longer to sight in then I planned so I ran out of time to test my other powders also. But Here are my results after shooting 79.0-84.0 in .5 grain increments. 1 shot each. I believe the smaller dot is 2.5" in diameter. I plan to now seat depth test at 100 yards with 82.0 grains.

Are you going to shoot that same test again, or just take it and run?

I was curious and took a look at their web site....

Looks like an awesome hunting rig in 300 PRC with a 22" 10 twist?

Serious elk medicine!

This thing is going to hammer them when you are done. Congrats, very nice rig.

I was going to reshoot 81-83. To verify. Then if it confirms I will shoot the 82 and seat depth. I also plan on shooting H1000 and N568. i would like to develop 2-3 loads with different powders so that way if I can't find certain powder at least I have a back up alrady done up.

You are in a great starting position with the test you just ran, so you are ahead of the game.

Nothing wrong with having a little fun and exploring the other recipes in case a different one shows an advantage.

With the BC of the Berger 205 Elite Hunter, this rig will be able to reach out and put them down hard.

I couldn't get n570 to shoot in my 300s. I tried it in 3 of them, h1000 was the ticket for me. I couldn't get enough n568 in the case.
N570 actually got really full for me. Especially at 84.0 grains. Based off the neck. Thought I'd hit pressure with it

I asked Berger for some load data for a 300 prc and they sent pages. The recipe for 205 elite hunter #30555, 205g, is N570 83.1 to 91.3g. I am working on it as well. Good Luck.

Good luck with that. There isn't that much case capacity.

I agree with 2 Buffalo

My case was filled to the neck at 84 grains. Anymore and I'd be filling into the neck

A lot of guys had told me they hit pressure at like 82 grain. I didn't but was concerned

But let me know how it shoots. I hit 2900 at 82.5 grains
