Ya'll know how to keep your weapons from the government grab? VOTE FOR TRUMP. After watching that debate there is no doubt in my mind what Hitlarys intentions are. There wasn't much doubt before the debate either but now she has stood before the nation a proclaimed what her intentions are.

I sat and listened to Clinton explain what she means when she says "I believe in the 2nd Amendment"...."It has to be regulated". It was a real education when she went on to explain what she meant by "regulated".
The Supreme Court ruled twice in the Heller and McDonald decisions that the Second Amendment guaranteed an individuals right to keep and bear arms. More than that, those decisions guaranteed the individual right to armed self-defense.

She is very smart and knows that a repeal of the amendment will not happen. Instead you "stack" the Court and get a "re-ruling" that alters what the amendment really says. (When they get through "to keep and bear arms" will translate to "we have the right to have arms and wear short sleeve shirts.")

Also she intends to go after the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Repeal of that law would allow virtually every element of the firearms industry to be sued in frivolous lawsuits....in other words put them out of business. She will find that difficult if there is not a Democrat majority in Congress but perhaps she has an "executive order" in mind.

When Hillary says "33,000 Americans were killed by firearms last year" She intentionally does not mention the fact that the number she quotes includes all deaths by firearms including suicide and accidental. So she uses the number in a way that misleads and makes people think that all of those were associated with murder. In 2015 60% of firearms deaths were suicide and more people were murdered by knife than "assault weapons." So hide your cutlery. Bet you will never hear her go into the Chicago murder debacle....Democrat Mayor and all.

To underestimate this lady and pretend she is not after your individual right to keep and bear arms is just plain stupid. No other way to say it.

What are the first three words of the second amendment? Oh, you mumble them or read them really fast or perhaps ignore them?

It is not an unlimited unrestricted right. That is clear. But at least the Supreme Court has confirmed that it is an individual right. We don't have to worry about it being applied just to an organized militia.

But what the hell! We gun enthusiasts are our own worst enemy! We are going to have a Democrat for President and in all likelihood, because the Republicans in Congress have behaved so badly, a Democrat congress. Deal with it! But deal with it thoughtfully. The NRA has long ago ceased to be a gun owners advocate and become a right wing political action organization.

The shortages are caused by fear. Remember FDR's admonition that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Shortages of 22 rimfire ammo: why? no one has proposed banning this and is it really a tactical ammo useful for overthrowing an oppressive government? No. Get real.

Assault weapons, large capacity magazines: I personally hate them but when I go to the range 90%+ of the shooters are using them. That train has left the station. There is no political or practical possibility of banning them now. Even Obama has realized this and has withdrawn his support for this. Clinton knows this too.

Let your local Congressman or Woman (and it is more and more likely they will be a Democrat) know you are a gun owner. But here's the thing: in my state gun control measures have passed by the initiative process. People are sick and tired of the politicians being held hostage by the NRA. They are not going to take it anymore.

Perhaps you should read the last four words of the second amendment. I would say that negates your claim to it being "an unlimited or un restricted right".

The NRA has NOT morphed into a "right wing political action organization" Rather the majority of the Democratic party has morphed into a platform for the anti gun establishment and the NRA is understandably responding to this grave threat to our constitution RIGHT (not privilege) to keep and bear arms. Remember 2nd amendment supporting Democrats such as Jim Webb are now a tiny minority in the democratic establishment.

I do concur with your statement that shortages are caused by fear. But that fear is based upon fact and not the speculation you are hinting at with your statement, remember the BATFE's attempt to ban 5.56 green tips? Or perhaps their latest proposals on powders?

Regarding your comment about "assault weapons" or as the media calls them "military assault weapons". You do know that that term does not appear in any ADRP, ATP, ATTP, FM or TM that the military uses right? So I guess you mean semi automatic firearms. Why do you hate them? Do they scare you or something? I am not a big fan of shotguns but will fight tooth and nail for the right of others to own and use them.

Perhaps the company you keep may be "sick and tired of the politicians being held hostage by the NRA" but I think most on this forum are supportive of the NRA's actions. And here is a little tid bit for you, it is not the NRA that is "holding the politicians hostage" but all of us tens of millions of gun owners. You say that "they are not going to take it anymore" well the millions of gun owners are not going to take it anymore either.

This is only reality if we sit by idly and do nothing.

And you would do well to keep in mind that if they are successful in their efforts against semi automatics then it will be only a matter of time before they come after your "blue steel and walnut"

It is very important that we never try to convince ourselves that Hillary has any viewpoint other then to redefine or fully eliminate the 2nd Amendment. The Socialistic doctrine she has been committed to since the 60's considers firearm possession by the general population an obstacle to complete power of her idea of government. Whether she can be successful doing it may be a question, but she WILL make every effort to fracture it. While Secretary of State she was responsible for ordering the destruction of foreign surplus M1 Garands that were slated to be imported into the US and earmarked for civilian purchase from the government for NRA sanctioned competition. She and Bill were the architects of the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban. She has more then proven herself, and demonstrated her intentions. When she says she supports the Second Amendment just remember that she has repeatedly demonstrated that she is not truthful and can NEVER be trusted....Most importantly, keep in mind that a fundamental tenant of the Liberal strategy is to bank on the emotions and ignorance of the electorate. Our knowledge, vote, and support of the gun lobbies is very necessary to fight for our rights!
