I hate to admit this, went to Wal-Mart last night I don't like Wal-Mart with wife & went to the sporting goods department to look around & the shells were stocked full of any pistol ammo you would want & a few .22 LR shells. This tells me we will have Powder soon, I am thinking the hoarders are stocked up finally. This tells me Powder will soon be back on the store shelves.

I also noticed this, In the June issue of handloader magazine Terry Wieland has an article on supply and demand, it pretty much puts the whole thing in a nutshell. Its a good read....

I think in the next few years, you'll see quite a few estate and general sales with gobs of powder ond primers listed. The stuff keeps just fine with minimal care.

The A'holes I don't like are the ones that suck it up and list it on Craigslist or Backpage for inflated prices. I report them regularly.

I still chuckle about the time I was at Cabelas (I live real close to one) and some bezel bub was pushing a shopping cart literally shoveling factory ammunition into it. I thought the cart would break.....

When it was full he headed off to the checkout..... just amazing.

Hodgdon has been in short supply because they had a fire at their plant in Oz and most of their extreme powders come from there....

Myself, I've never ran out of any component, came close but no SOL yet.

I just got back from a trip to Denver for a few days. While I was there I went to Cabelas and they probably had close to 20 pounds of H1000 and probably 10 pounds of H4350. I couldn't believe how much H1000 they had and nobody was buying it. They still didn't have any match primers, though.

sucks you dont have powder on your shelves man you need to come visit me in Idaho we have most of the hard powders to find on our shelves it varies from week to week on what we have but it is definitely getting easier to find. Unfortunately the hoarders are still out in bunches we have the ATK/CCI factory in my town and I was talking to my buddy who is one of the managers down there and they are producing 4.1 million .22LR rounds a day and they are backordered for the next 4 years. We get .22LR at my store every week but it only lasts a day at the most.

Haven't seen rim fires on the shelf since the warm weather hit. Powders usually come in every other week or so and sell out in a day or two. I think it will be a couple years before I see a pound of H1000 or IMR 4350 last a week on a shelf.

for us powder usually lasts a week or close to it we still have a 8lb keg of h1000 right now

Wow, sounds like I need to make a trip from Boise to Lewiston.

Yeah it's coming back slowly... it was incredible how people just didn't get that it was consumers doing it and not "Dem gubments' when I was still selling guns and ammo for a retail store.
