Is there any way of telling the difference between a large rifle primer and a magnum primer if they are the same colours

Is it dangerous to shoot a magnum primer in a .243 or a .308

Are they Federal by chance?
Chemical fill of Fed Mag primers (215 & 215M) is purple. Chemical fill of LR (210 & 210M) is red.
CCI uses yellow for both LR and LRM.
I don't remember what Win and R-P colors are.

In the future, avoid mixing primers. Keep LR and LRM separate, and in their respective boxes. Only take one box out of the cabinet at a time. Keep records. While they should both be safe, I bet your ES/SD will climb by quite a bit.
