Hornady 30 cal 200 grain ELD-X load for 300 WSM

62.8gr RL-17
2.855" COAL
Nosler Brass
WLRM primer
Sako 75, 1:11 twist
Hornady claims around 2950 fps, but I'll put it over my chrono in the near future to find out exactly what it's running at. 200gr Accubond with same charge was 2909 fps at 2.900" COAL
Just worked this up 2 days ago..........sub moa, 3 shot "clover leaf"

Keep me updated Ddu and I will do the same. Just getting my rig together for testing. Just waiting for the optic and finished bedding in McMilliam Gamescout.

68.0gr IMR7828
.020 jump
CCI-250
Winchester brass
2915 fps
Savage 11TH, 24"
Accuracy was acceptable at just over 3/4moa, however, my seating die is deforming the bullets slightly. Accuracy should improve with the correct seating plug. The rifle shoots 1/4moa with 190VLD's

Im going to have to try this load. Is it a compressed load seated .020 off the lands?

67.5 gr RL-26 @ 2,913 fps
ES 25fps
COAL of 2.890" (0.020" jump)
Fed 215 primers
Norma brass
Model 12 Savage LPV (26" varmit contour barrel)

Shot 1.344" at 200 yards. Group sizes up and down 0.5 grain were 1.797" and 1.750" respectively so load looks to have some margin as the loads either side were still under 1 MOA. Those loads ran 2,939 fps and 2,891 fps.

I'd like to bump this up now that these 200 grain ELD-X bullets have been out for a while. I'm going to switch from 190 Bergers to the 200 ELD-X, and want to use a temp stable powder, so I'm interested in more success stories using RL-26 or Hogdon extreme powders. My M70 has plenty of room in the mag box to get them to the lands at 2.939 COAL with the Hornadys.

I'm still working on this load in my factory M70. A ladder test revealed a nice node in the 68.6 range. ES is low, no signs of pressure up to 69.1 grains. So far I'm still chasing my tail getting it to do much better than 1" for a 5 shot group. I've tried them from .005 to .130 off the lands, without seeing a whole lot of difference. My chrono varies with sun angle, but it looks to be about 2940 fps in a 24" barrel. It may be getting time to send this M70 to LRI for a true and Carbon six featherweight...?
