Hornady 200gr ELD-X loads for the 30-06

I haven't been able to find the Hornady 200 ELD-X but I was looking at Nosler's load data and found that it's possible to get 2700 with the 200 gr. This is a max load with RL-22. Their data shows that the most accurate load is an avg. of 2500 fps.
I shoot a 06 with a 26" Hart barrel 57.5 grs. of H4350 using Berger 168 hybrids and get 2930 fps.
When I ran these numbers through the G7 ballistic calc. I don't see much gained but more kick.
That's slow for 200gr Part in 30-06
57.0 IMR 4350
2800 fps

Don't know your rifle or load Sir, but 2700 FPS with a 200 grain Partition is smack in the high end of "sane land" in the 30-06.
2800 FPS is well north of "sane land."
26" barrel might mitigate this opinion a bit, if that is the paradigm in which you are suggesting 2800' as sane.

Only tried 200 gr Nosler Partitions and Speers in my Rem 78 with a 22" barrel, at only 2,576 fps. Still it kills elk well in the dark timber I usually hunt.
According to Hodgdon I might be able to get close to their max of 2,688 fps using Hunter. Might play with that.
I love my 30-06s! Killed my first deer, first elk, and first antelope with one.
I'd love to find a Kimber Montana in 30-06. Hopefully I could handle the recoil.

I still prefer 200gr Accubond over ELDX in 30-06.

With 200gr Accubond I would suggest Reloader 22 or H4831 in the 30-06.

What kind of velocity could one expect with imr4831 and a 24" barrel.
you should get 50-80 fps more than I do just because of your 24 vs my 22" barrel. Maybe another 50 if you watch your pressures.
Me, I stop when my accuracy is what I want. 200 grainers are my dark timber loads where shots are rarely over 100 yards and I need to "thread the needle" to get between limbs. Works great on elk! Either bullet, ie Speer or Nosler Partition For my purpose.
Really if you want something more than 2,600 fps you should use a 300 WM.
