How light it too light of a trigger for 6lb long range rifle?

Most folks want to stay under 3 lbs. I like mine around 18-20 oz. YMMV.

Once you get use to a light trigger, you'll never go back. I have several different types of aftermarkt triggers. I switching to TriggerTeck when I have a rifle built. They don't build for all action. SAD!
I feel that are missing the boat!

If i ever use higher weight i start to get occasional flyers to the right.

For hunting, 1.5 # works great. It's a good idea to pick up a trigger gauge.

I also shoot 1.5lbs for hunting. A 2.5lb trigger feels like pulling a boat anchor now haha.

2lb trigger for me. A 6 lb rifle is really light weight for a 7 mag long range rifle. You will most likely need a good brake or a suppressor to tame the recoil. Light rifles, in general, are more difficult to shoot accurately at long range.

Trigger weight preference is very much a personal thing, and needs a lot of aspects taken into consideration. Gloves? Cold? Fast shot opportunies? This thread will get you personal opinions for each individuals style of hunting.

6 lbs scoped ready to hunt? If so, thats pretty light. Means a bare rifle in the 4 lb xx oz range.

If that's the case, it's going to be challenging to shoot it well at long range. I usually like lighter rifles to have a few less oz's on the trigger pull, I would personally go for around a 12-14 oz trigger. My 9.5 lb hunting rifle has a trigger Tech diamond 2 stage with a flat shoe, with a combined pull weight of about 18 oz, and is where I like my triggers for anything more than an ultralight rifle. Again, personal preference for how I hunt.

I run Trigger Tech Specials around 1-1.5lbs.

Save some money and go with the TT Special. Adjusts 1-3lbs which is plenty light for a working gun.

TT Diamonds adjust down to 4oz. That's the only difference in the 2 triggers

Wow, I haven't been a part of a trigger discussion in 7-8 years or longer (I got out of the game for a while). I opened up this thread expecting 2.5-4lb to be the common answer for a hunting rifle. Boy, am I behind the times!

This has got me thinking.

I run 1 to 1.5 pounds as a general rule, but will up pull to 3 pounds when hunting in cold weather.
