I know I am the only guy on the planet who thinks a 3 position safety is a necessity. I just hate when my bolt comes open when I am hunting and I like to be able to unload with the safety on. Sako or simliar style that locks the action but allows unloading on safety count.

Both of the shelf and for custom builds.

Some selected rifles of German, Austrian and Danish production with the demanded safety:

Heym SR 21 (my favorite) :)

All types of modern Steyr Mannlicher with the SBS - system

Schultz & Larsen 97 Standard or Victory models.

How do I get a hold of one of those german rifles. :)

Like to help you of course! :)

HEYM USA | email: [email protected] Looks like all their guns, both bolt and break actions, are available. Take a look at their more common models like the SR 21 + SR 30. Heym has in my opinion the smoothest going actions you can find and not being custom. They shoot lights out right out of the box.

For the famous Austrian Steyr Guns use: Steyr Mannlicher US:*Dealers

The versatile Schultz & Larsen 97 from Danmark: Home - English
Schultz & Larsen has several dealers in the US. Absolutely worth to look at and very, very popular in Scandinavia.

It depends on what cartridge. For 300 Dakota and smaller, I would go with a Howa or Vanguard. If a custom were in the budget, I would go with a custom. For larger than a 300 Dakota, a custom would be my choice.

No real favorites for customs although I lean to Defiance or maybe Snowy Mountian Rifles. SMR offers a very good full custom package. Don't know about 3 position safeties though.
