Ejection problems in RemAge build

When opening the bolt, the spent casing falls loose on top of the follower and doesn't "eject". What is the likely cause of, and more importantly, remedy for this? This is a RemAge using a new 700 LA bolt and action.

Sounds like the ejector plunger is stuck or not working at all. sometimes they get a little brass in the hole and it jams the plunger.

If the ejector seems to be operating okay, snap a case under the extractor and see if you can pull it straight off the bolt. ( bolt removed )

morning, I had a 1950's model 700SA. the original
chambering was 300savage. the new hart barrel and
chamber is 22-250AI. the extracting of shell
was marginal. smithy put a sako extractor,
problem solved. justme gbot tum
