Ok, I was threading on barrel and like most put tape etc on it to prevent scratches. As I was getting ready to tape it I happened to glance at my fishing rod rack and noticed the rod protectors and voila! Slid one over barrel nice and tight. Slipped barrel nut wrench down barrel without care in world! Perfect protection and cost literally nothing and reusable. Just a shared thought.
