300 win or 6.5 PRC . Nothing is readily available now.
I love my grendel but it doesn't have near the *** needed to take down big game reliably, for me anyways6.5 Grendel has been my all around go to for awhile now..... Haven't found any reason to look elsewhere, does a little of everything
Guessing u already have this build? I like the 7 max choice! And the wildcat commentOp;
Do all rifle???

"If you had to choose one rifle to hunt everything from antelope to elk, what would it be? This rifle must use components that are readily available. It must also be a caliber that is inherently accurate. No need to waste 600 rounds of 1000 round barrel life doing load development.
I want to build a rifle but can't decide what to build."

My choice this year for a do all rifle:
is a Seekins Havak Element.
Being modified for my specific hunting needs & style with a Bartlein #4 carbon, 21" 6.5cal. 7.5 twist, mod400BB SS core material.
Chambered for Sherman 6.5 MAX.
Jäger suppressed.
Topped with NF NX8 2.5-20. Loaded with both 156 Berger's & lighter copper mono's.
Manageable recoil, Easy to carry.
Components are available. Should be easy to find an accurate load for & the barrel material choice is said to increase barrel life.
I find 6.5 caliber a pleasure to shoot accurately & confidently, important factors for shot placement.
Fun to shoot & practice
at steel or rocks waaay out there.
And with the right bullet choice & accurate shot placement, capable of taking Antelope to Elk, up close to as far as I'm comfortable with.
Ya.... that'll work.
Also a 7MAX would be an excellent choice. Either way on a medium action.
Good luck on your "do all 1 rifle" build.
("Son, you know she's a Wildcat".... "I know Dad.. ain't she cool")
Never is!Seriously. Just one? I'm thinking one isn't enough!!
A customer once told me "The more that you have, the more that you need."Seriously. Just one? I'm thinking one isn't enough!!
Never is!
If it was me I would choose the 7 mag. I myself go with the 28 nosler but all the same it's hard to beat the tried and true 7.If you had to choose one rifle to hunt everything from antelope to elk, what would it be? Good choice what bullet are you going to use? This is my next build a do all rifle. Deer hunting in the tree stand but capable of Longrange hunting as well. I have settled on the 300 wsm. Caliber is very accurate
Easy to carry but comfortable to got prone at range and not too heavy. Medium weight hunter rifle
Thanks
Buck
30-06 is STILL the best all-around North American Game Rifle. The ammunition is everywhere and affordable. Great barrel life, widest bullet selection of any caliber, and it's inherently accurate. The 24" barrel is better for efficiency than the 22" or 20" ones. Handloaders can do more with it than many other options. If you had to choose one rifle to hunt everything from antelope to elk, what would it be?
