Cutting edge Bullets

Has anyone tried cutting edge Bullets for hunting? I was wondering how they perform. We recently acquired some Lazers for a 338 edge and was impressed on how well they performed on paper as well with velocity consistency.

Sorry i just saw this thread- I live in California which went non lead several years ago. Fortunately for me I found Cutting Edge Bullets. Unbelievable terminal performance and accuracy. I think I have 27 one shot kills with those bullets. The farthest any has run is 125paces and that was a cow elk at 290 yards. Most stop immediately, Great bullet I have taken many Mule deer, elk- bulls and cows, a grizzly and a dall sheep. Don't leave home without them!

I requested load data for the MTH 180s and 175s in 30 Cal, I intend to use them in 300 WSM.

What caliber are you shooting them in, and are you still using CE bullets? Last year they had a spring sale, I found googling...maybe a sale is coming soon?

Yes, I know. Trying to sell some stuff so I can order some. I want to get a box of 6.5mm (120 grain) and a box of MTH 180s in 30 cal. They supplied me with load data for a variety of powders, older, slightly faster CM Creedmoor type, and newer slower magnum type powders. The 180s will support 1:10.5, so I should be good to go on 300 WSM. They also have a COAL of 2.855 and my mag length will be 2.955. There are several options, McGuires 168 Copper Rose Standard and Long look attractive also, and Lehigh Defense has a couple interesting loads. These are all non-lead, and that's not to mentioned Barnes, Hornady, Maker, et al, non-load bullets.

Do you use the CE bullets?

I must correct myself, as the SPRING25 sale ended last Friday, but to Cutting Edge's credit, they gave me a special code to give me the sale price and I ordered 1 box of .264 125 grain Maximus, a 1 box of .308 165 grain Maximus, to try in 6.5 PRC and 300 WSM respectively. I was on the edge of getting the 180 grain in 308, as they sent me load data for those also, just that 165 grain is a pretty big pill, even out to 600 yards.

Anyone use the Maximus bullets here? Would like to hear how the performance was.

Maximus 270 cal. 125gr. They have been doing very well. I shot a 8 point whitetail this past season. Shot out of my 270-08
135yd shot and a bang flop. Performed very well, complete pass through.
I'm hoping to try them this year in my
270RUM, might get them to 4000fps.

My understand is that the Maximus fractures the petals back to the deep cannelure, around 60% from the tail. The MTH looks similar to the Barnes LRX 212 borerider, where the sectional density is smooth. In contrast, the Lehigh Defense and Gorilla have the deep cannelure set back farther to the tail, so the slug that is left penetrating is smaller. That's a pretty big slug after the petals have fractures, but the MTH also fractures, as I understand it. Which one did you use?

The MTH . Yes petals do break off.
